LAKE ELSINORE, CA – (June 23, 2009) – Team General Tire will invade the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex June 27-28 when the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series makes its debut at the venue.

Off-road legend Carl Renezeder will be joined by Carey Hart and Robby Woods, the newest member of Team GT, for the two-day event. Renezeder will compete in both Unlimited 2 and 4 classes, while Hart and Woods will take on Unlimited 2.

“Team GT is very excited to compete at the Lake Elsinore event. This an extremely aggressive team, and we’re gunning for some wins this weekend,” said Dana Zamalloa, PR and communications manager, General Tire.
Renezeder has a long and storied career in off-road racing, going back to 1994. He has 76 Career Short Course Wins (65 in CORR, 10 in WSORR), including two Pro-4 Championships and two Pro-2 Championships; as well as a Class 1 win in the 1998 SCORE Baja 1000, and two podium finishes in the SCORE Baja 500. He swept both classes for wins at the LOORRS event in Wittman, AZ, last month.
Hart began his career as an amateur motocross racer and since then, his list of accomplishments has continued to grow. Aside from his many wins, he performed the first-ever full back-flip, dubbed the “Hart Attack,” on a 250cc bike at the 2000 Gravity Games. More recently, Hart has opened a chain of successful tattoo shops and has become a television personality.
Woods, the newest team member, began his career as an amateur motocross racer at just 6 years of age. He was a consistent winner until an accident side-lined him from the sport. He soon turned his attention to short-course racing and after several years of research and development, he debuted his #99 Pro-2 truck in 2008 in the CORR series.

Team General Tire members also will sign autographs during a kick-off party presented by Rockstar Energy Drink on Friday, June 26th. The Rockstar Lounge will be in full effect with special Rockstar beverages and models. Fans will have the chance to interact with the Metal Mulisha’s Brian Deegan, Hart and many of the stars of short course off road racing.
