I've got a '00 S-10. The alternator went out and I put a new rebuilt one back in. Now the fuse for the AC keeps blowing. WTF. Any ideas where to look first??
Maybe check the 2 wire connector on the compressor and make sure it didn't get broken. It sounds to me like it may just be a coincidence...maybe a bad blower motor or something.

I had a similar problem on my toyota, turned out I put the alternator cable on backwars which let part of the cable rub through the heat shrink and it kept blowing my alt. a/c fuse and it was only the size of a pin head where it rubbed through, but enough to ground it out. So I third the wire part.
