gday,
Does anyone have any idea as to what quick change gear set we should be using with our 3-speed jeff Fields Tranny in our RACECO, we have the following:

4:86 crown wheel and pinion
35inch tires- BFG Baja
and we are looking to do 120mp/h at 6000rpm(with a V8 chev)

thanks in advance, we are just not quite sure if we may be over running it at the moment(which may be causing overheating problems in the converter)...
cheers

we have a northstar v-8 that turns 6000 rpm 35 inch tires and Jeff just put in a 6.0 final drive and says it should be right at 120 mph. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/cool.gif hope that helps.

I think that you just add them so if you have a 4.86 rp then 1.14 quick change would give you a 6.0 final. But I'm guessing. They do run hot. I run three oil cooler on Mine. 2 big one in series with TQ and a smaller one on the output of the pump. They have been able to keep it cool

Divide them. 6.0 / 4.86 = 1.23, So you need a 1.23 gear set for the QC.
