Getting ready to put springs under a service/chase truck and always prefer to use custom made springs rather than mass produced(Rancho, Skyjacker, etc) and have always had good luck with National but noticed that Deaver seems to be quite popular with a lot of people. Seeing as how I have time to ask/check around, just looking for a couple of reasons why so many of you use Deaver. Price, quality, turn around time? All of those? Fill me in guys.....

jeff at deaver has treated me well. i have his springs on my race truck as well as other vehicles of mine and am very happy with them. he also supports alot of racers in or sport and that is great so supporting him back is just the right thing to do. as well as all the r&d feed back from the racers should help to build better springs. he is located in Santa Anna, ca (714)542-3703

how bout some full size chevy springs, pat seems to show trucks up all the time running deavers and nationals, and with what???? a 75 dollar pair of chevy springs. its ur own personal preference. every company has good and bad experiences. when u ask a question involving an opinianated answer, thats all u will get is a huge back and forth of opinions. if u are happy with nationals service than stick with them. i have nationals on my truck but thats because i got a deal that allowed me to make payments on them, that deal never came up with a set of deavers. just go with who ever u feel comfortable with. sorry not trying to be rude, just gets kinda lame watching people go back and forth over a subject that his been gone over several times. just my opinion.

OUCH!!! Guess I see who my friends are, Kevin............lets not forget who steered my tword Deaver, Mr. Davis. Oh yea, I got the bill on your trucks for V2R, its $9,232.23-------special "friend" discount already applied............will that be cash, check, or charge??? hahahahahha
If you do not want to read about our opinions regarding a certain subject 91yotaprerunner, then I have a really easy solution for you. Don't click on the thread...........
I know it has been covered, but the guy asked, and he asked about something that I am very opinionated about, so I gave it to him. I thought I did it pretty nicely too.....................

I would use AOR springs, all their springs are custom built for your application, not like some of the companies you mentioned. Check out their web site. www.aor4x4.com (http://www.aor4x4.com)

Matt did have 2 bad experinces with Deaver that I know of. I dont blame him for his thoughts. I on the other hand have been with Deaver since 1996...I have always had great service and quality from them...opinions are just that and take them for what they are worth...

Alright guys, didn't ask the questions to start a debate, just thought I would ask and get opinions. Where I am located, its a good two hour drive to closest spring place and 7 plus to go in person anywhere that makes more than one set a race springs once or twice a year. So, I asked....

come on now. theres nothing wrong with asking! we remain on good terms with national (other spring shops too! theres enough work for all of us). we certainly woulnt try to steal a customer away from them, and i doubt they would to us. i usually say go to whoevers closer. we do a bunch of service trucks for racers (herbst, riviera), and do so many service trucks a month its all a blur. im sure national does tons as well... so we are both up to the job http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/smile.gif
the spring business seems to be one where there arent many options out there, and unfortunately, that sticks in the heads of customer service people.
matt: i dont like seeing bad things about the company i work for online,. as the only person from the shop that checks the internet, and not always being able to do something about it, seeing smack-talking is a real drag. you, though, every post ive seen you make on the issue you have been respectful, mature, and handled it privately. thank you. i dont think i want to know what you say in the PM, though. :P
fireguy: you saying our springs are custom for the vehicles? as the person that actually does the labor, i beg to differ. all jobs are evaluated and addressed differently, and we stand behind every job we do.

ya I definatly recommend deaver, you guys are awesome. I stepped into using your springs when I broke my stock ones then I used the bolt on replacements, they were excellent... Then I stepped up to the 61.5's which you reworked for me and I have never had a problem... They ride awesome...

in the begining i had nationals on my race truck and couldnt get them to work how i wanted so then i switched to deaver which was the best decision ever made. eric worked very hard with me to get the spring dialed like they are now. national was just a big run around when i was dealing with them.

I run Deavers on my prerunner, race truck and rock crawler. The service and the product they provide is top notch. They will go out of their way to make sure the springs work exactly how you want them too.

I ran National springs for years on all my race trucks but after a while I started feeling like a number from the people at National. Phone calls were not returned. Springs didn’t come out the right ride height. In frustration about 7 years ago I dropped off a set of national springs at Deaver for them to Race tune. The customer service was by far the best I have ever seen from a spring shop. Jeff Crosby's attention to detail and understanding of spring design is about the best in the industry. After that I never looked back. Today Jeff, Scott, Eric and Gary have built springs for my entire product line as well as any side race projects we do. Our super duty product line was a huge undertaking for them as well as for us and Deaver spring didn’t skip a beat. Every month they produce hundreds of sets of springs for us like they were some big manufacturer. If you have ever seen there shop you would think it’s impossible but they pull it off every month. I could not recommend them enough. If you go to any off-road race you will see Deaver spring out there to support the racers. I haven’t seen National Spring at a race in 10 years. In the last 8 years Trucks Equipped with Deaver springs have won more Races then National by about 10-1… They work hard at what they do and truly care about there customers. I don’t know about you guys but it just seems to me that the guys that care and support racers get my business. That’s my 2 cents.
