I have a question for all you chevy people what is a good length shackle to use with stock leafs on a extra cab silverado 2wd. Who makes them, how do they work? And should i also go ahead and upgrade leafs also?? Any in put would help, its all going on a mild pre-runner and chase truck. Also anyone have a phone number for trailer products i need the price for the 6 in front fenders.

I am running deaver race packs and stock shackles with fox shocks it works really good. I tried different shackles and stock leafs but it was no good. I recomend upgrading the springs and go from there.

what was it about the different shackles and stock leafs that you did not like, thats what i was planning on doing. But i just might go with the shackals and leafs. And how much travle are you pulling with the set up you have??

If you put a longer shackle on stock leafs it will lower the truck, kinda pointless.
I think with a deaver pack you can get 16 inches with the stock shackle. the pack is a 4in lift, if you dont want that much lift then you can run a longer shackle.

Ok one more question for your chevy guys. when i go the truck it already had a 3 in body lift. So now i have more room under the bed for shox from going through the bed. But also i have herd of breaking the body spacers with severe off road. Also the way i want the front bumper to look, with the body lift there will be alot of exposed chassi. So anyone can give me more advise to keep the body lift or get ride of it??? Right now i am in the middle.

Get rid of the body lift before you do anything else. If you build your truck with the body lift and then decide you want to get a little bit more serious it will be a nightmare to take it off. Plus the leafs on those Chevys go over flat really bad which doesn't produce quality travel and it is really hard on springs too. I think it was almost 5 inches. I learned this after I realized my truck got lower every time I went to the desert because I was slowly dearching the springs every trip. Therefore if you put 4 inch deavers (rather than the body lift)you will gain 4 inches of quality travel and with 2 inch longer shackles you will lower the truck an inch but you will decrease the amount it goes over flat by an inch also, which is a good thing.
I have 4 inch deavers with 14" shocks and 2" longer shackles. I get about 14" of usable travel (15" if I jack it up and go drink a beer or 2 and then measure). That combination works good. I had 12" shocks that barely went into the bed at all (maybe 3") and pulled the same amount of travel but it didn't work as well as the 14" inch shocks because of the angle.
I will also be selling my deavers in about 3 weeks so keep your eyes peeled for the classified or pm me.
Hope this helps

I agree with the loosing the body lift. I have the 4 inch lift deavers with stock shackles and then I cut the upper shock mounts off and raised them up to about a half an inch from the bed which is 3 inches higher and I am running 12 inch foxes at about 15 inches of travel with limit straps. It would droop out more but I don't have enough shock.
