I am going out to pick up some new rims from Kartek on friday and I want to get the tires, 35x12.5r15, mounted up on the gordon beadlock rims. The place we normally take our tires too, goodyear racing, is pretty busy so I am looking for somewhere else to go. Anybody know of tire shops between corona and the south bay area where I could make an appointment and wait to get the 4 tires mounted without hassle because of the beadlock deal. Any contact info and pricing would be great.

They are pretty easy to mount. you can do it by hand. with the ring off the wheel, drop the tire on the rim and then put on the ring and start the bolts. make sure you tighten the bolts evenly and torque them to the correct amount. should take you an hour to do 4 of them.
Are you going to have them balanced? if so any shop should balance them if you mounted them yourself. Just tell them they are fake beadlocks or "streetlocks".

OMF beadlocks are in riverside, they might be able to mount them for you. I dont know their number though. There is robby gordon racing in anaheim, I dont know where south bay is so cant really help you on that. Have you called any of the tire places like americas tire co? Umm... cant think of any other ones.

The south bay is like Redondo beach, south of lax area. I have tried most of the america's tire type places and they won't touch the beadlocks. I would mount them myself but I don't have the experience or trust myself enough to do it, would rather pay a little to get it done right. We are going to be racing on them at the 400 so I don't wanna screw them up or have anything happen at 100+ mph. Anybody else, has to be more places that racers go. I might give Gordon off-road a call since they are their rims.

Thanks for the help, I know Kartek used to/ does mount rims, we need to call them to make sure they can do it on friday, it was questionable. Robby Gordon does make 15'' rims for vw's. They are a race wheel with beadlock. They do make the 17's for trucks but they have 15's for the buggy's.

unless you have a buterfly ratchet to screw each of those suckers down with...its a long boring job...
and then torquing 120 screws...
but yeah $200 an hour sounds good...that would make me overpaid as badly as union guys!

We only charge $10 each tire to be mounted. Beadlock or non-bl. We do have the Robby Wheels in stock but as far as I know, we don't stock any 35" tires for racing. (BFG I'm assuming) We only stock paddles, Mickey Thompson, and Yokohama. Please call if you have any questions (909) 737-7223.

Thanks for the help guys, I went out and got the rims from kartek but mike said that you were pretty busy and couldn't get it done till tomorrow afternoon. It is nice to know though. I ended up dropping them off at gordon's shop to get mounted and they are gonna be ready tomorrow morning. Nice to see the TT all torn apart for the 1000...
