Well as i have posted we had a rather un-pleasant race at the code night race. Here is a picture of what caused us to pull out, cant race without steering.

And as for the shmuck who ramed into the back of us like if it were a bumper car ride at the amusment park. Only a sawzall can fix.

ouch! as a driver of a mini stock(7300) ranger in bitd,i feel your pain brother.when a guy in tech looked at the back of our truck he asked me"who hit you?" to wich i replied"who hasn't?"we get punted every race and it always scares the crap outta you! i don't know if it's legal ,but one old desert veteran told me to duct tape some tranny fluid jugs to your back bumper.watta mess on the face shield that would make!good luck mexracer.

Oh my that is perfect. Oil quarts most genious idea. But yea i think that there are very fine lines that have to be followed by the racer when it come to the bump n pass. But unfortunatly people abuse of this privlage to bump someone legaly. I personaly have never hit anyone, but if i did i would do it in the most gentlmanly way possable ( wow big word) because as the saying goes do to others as you would like other to do to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are getting "punted" every race, then you are not watching what is behind you, or not trying to pull over and let them by.

"NO" we do watch behind us, as much as we can while still watching were we are going. but if you have raced much you know you cant see much behind you looking out of 5" mirrors in the blinding dust, you can't see any body till they are right on you. and for some guys thats to late. also you cant always pull over right away do to the course conditions. some times it takes a little time to get to a spot to pull over. im not going to take out a driveline or some thing else to move over immediatly. i show them a hand to let them know i know they are there and look to pull over ASAP. we have got hit hard a couple of times and it may or may not have been neccasary but thats racing. and on the other hand we have got to do a bite of nerfing our selves too! but i usually give them a bite to pull over first. if they dont signal that they know im there then i will hit them lightly first and if still no response then ill hit them harder.

Are you running a 4age?
mexracer10
June 16th, 2004, 10:39
I have one of those its a high resolution "reverse camera" with a 7inch screen with a black and white camera. I thought it was a good idea if i put it in but the screen is too deep i would need like a flat screen. So how much did your set up run? I have the camera just need the screen. And as far as no looking back when someone is catching you. For one it was at night and 2 our car had a flat in the tight rocky section and if you raced the code night race you know that there is no place to pull over in this section about 5 miles off the start. Also the guy in the 5 car did not honk and it was two times he hit us. So you make the call our fault or not it should not have happend.
Yes we are running a 4age toyota, coupled to a vw bus tranny.

You can get everything you need on Ebay for under $200. Just need a "lipstick camera" and then the screen. It works good because we have it mounted high on the truck so it sees over the dust for a ways back....those incar videos I made from the MDR race was using that same camera....

They do have almost turn key set ups, but i got my camera at frys elec. for 70 bucks its a swan and has 380 resolution with interchangable lense and adjustable focal point and a biuld in mic. all you would need is a deck for recording, which i got on ebay for 60 bucks with a small flip screen on it
