Any ideas besides the crap at Home Depot and lowes? I used that stuff and it eventually comes up.

Beware a company in SoCal called " the perfect garage" their flooring looks awesome for about 4-5 months, then it started to buble and peel. My dad doesnt even do anything in the garage, so its not because of abuse. I do all the work out in the driveway. Weve tried to get them to repair their flooring since they offer a "lifetime warranty" but. "they dont know why it happened, and hence cant fix it". Just wanted to warn others before they get into same situation were in.

the 2 part epoxy floors work OK if the floor is properly prep'd but the next time i do more area in my shop i'm going to use U-coat-it. it looks to be the best for the the money. u-coat-it is a water based covering that seams to penetrate the concrete better than epoxy.

all the solutions that are impervious to brake cleaner, brake fluid, etc are way out of the normal guys price range.

See if you can find a mobile bedliner company, my best friend had a mobile bedliner co for a while and he did his garage in blue on the floor and it looks bad [I have been warned]. it holds up really well. The epoxy stuff looks good but isnt very thick. There is also those snap in tiles that are in checkered flag pattern and if you mess them up you just replac them, no biggie. IF you do find a mobile bedliner place be prepared to spend around 1 g probably. I will talk to my cousins bf, his dad owns wolf bedliners and see if he has a mobile unit. Later.

I'm in construction...and I can tell you that the stuff you can buy at Home Depot, Lowes and any other auto store is crap. In my garage I used a product that is made for warehouses and industrail applications. ..You can pour acid on it and it wont do anything. You have to buy it at a concrete supply store...look in your phone book under construction supplies. It's a expoy paint...but the prep is the main thing. You have to acid etch the concrete...Basically spary Moraic acid on the concrete...let it sit and wash ito off with a alot of water. After a day of drying...cut in with a brush all the control joints and edges...after that use a roller and paint on 2 coats of the epoxy paint.

I own a garage floor coating business. The epoxy that is offered at the home improvement stores is just like the others have said, "No Good" Prep is the key to a good epoxy floor. I use industrial grade 2 part epoxy. go to my website Class 1 Garage (http://www.class1garage.com)

A buddy of mine has a mobile bedliner and rim/tire company. The stuff he uses has flooring and wall applications. Check out his site and/or give him a call. Chad at CM Motorsports (714) 863-9138. PM me if you want me call him and talk to him first. CM Motorsports (http://www.cmmotorsports.net/)

doing a floor is like painting a car. it's all in the prep. the better the prep, the better the job and overall results.
you can have a prep service come out and mechanically prep the floor with a blasting machine (looks like a small floor srubber that shoots steel shot at it and sucks it up) for roughly .30-.50/sq ft. that is really the best way to do it.

you can do a muriatic acid wash. you use a mixture, not straight. it is very time consuming and not everyone wants to wash acid out the driveway. your floor can take a week to dry if it has a vapor barrier under it. it takes a number of washes as well. you can have it mechanically done and paint that day.
if you have a f-glass reinf concrete, it will leave hairs up that will look like razor stubble. you can either leave them in or sand them down after the primer. if you leave them in it gives the floor a bit of texture that will eventually wear down.

sherwin williams makes a line of coverings that are really nice & affordable. much tougher than thestuff sold at a 'box" store. about 350-400 to do a avg garage. armor coat is the line name.

i recently did my shop with an industrial grade epoxy. it is about 2-3 mil thick.
lots of work, but the results are worth it.
