second trip to pre run the 500 and same results...motor keeps bending push rods..have a set of dart heads with roller rockers and I think the rockers are 1.6 to 1 . I can see a llittle wearingg maybe on the push rods where it comes thru the head. builder says heads all check out fine..what could be causing the motor to keep doing this... both times it happened at idle speed. motor is 383 stroker.

With roler rockers you should have guide plates, if so you need hardend push rods. Also check to see if your getting coil bind (to large a cam/small spring).

I'm assuming you are running a small block chevy? What push rods are you running? If your not running guide plates and hardend push rods then your are asking for disaster. Also the damage is most likely happing at higher RPM's and you notice it at idle. If you have a cam that run's higher rpm, and runs a fair amount of valve spring presure you will need a REV kit also.

have gottem a few recommendations about guide plates and that seems to be the route I will take. other time it happened at start up after a stop....had let truck idle for a few ...then on restart it was real obvious....this time was coming down a hill in low gear about 2000Rpm.stopped then when I restarted I head the valve start clicking. will need to check rod length and then get plated put in. any other advice???
