Do pro trucks have a bolt on hub? I am wondering this cause if they do I know they run a 15" rim and I have not heard of any problems withthe spindle/ hub on the truck. Im looking in to the hub so that i can possibly get a spindle built around it for my truck. id look into the entire spindle/hub assembly but the spinld is for a ball joint and i do not want to run ball joints. who can the hubs be bought through and what are the specs on them? what about the brakes and rotors? any information would be awsome.

well then you dont want to run PT spindels because they use balljoints and the ball joints alone will make you go broke.

i know about the protruck spnidle. i was looking for more information on the hub and snout itself. from what i knwo the spindle is the urpright that the lower and upper control arms attach to and the snout/hub brakes and rotors are the hub assembly that usually bolts into place on the spindle. Is that correct or am i confussed?

You are correct, but most people commonly refer to the "upright" as a "spindle". The Spindle is actually the snout that the wheel bearings spin on. It is also referred to as a stub axle.

Take a look at using a rear floater hub and spindle from Tubeworks or Summers, or Cone, etc.
Fabricate your upright around that spindle. Not only do you get a super stout front hub but
also if you use the same on the rear then you can save on spares. You can build a kingpin
or whatever style upright around the Tubeworks or whatever spindle.

I agree with Chris, call up Jason at Tubeworks he sells the floater hubs and spindle pin. Nestor at Newline also has a custom hub made any bolt pattern that he sells.

Protruck spindles actually press into the knuckle instead of bolt to it.

Not sure if it is/was the cheapest or easiest way to go but I have been running PT spindles, hubs and uprights on my prerunner which also gets hammered about twice a year when raced and so far have not had any problems with the stuff and thats been about 4 years now. Originally bought everything to go on another truck and set everything up to run with uniballs rather that balljoints though....
I dont know much about the Protruck spindle. I do know about Tubeworks spindle and hubs. I just finished a set of uprights built around Jasons rear Prerunner hubs. If you go this route you will probally want to use the prerunner ones since they will make it easier for you to hit a good scrub radius easier. The full race ones are much wider making the king pin iclination angle laid pretty far back. The advantages are using the same drive flange, bearings, races, hub centrics, brakes, basically everything the only difference would be if you use the full race hub in the back which only the hub is different. Another cool thing is that they use a combination of gear oil and grease sealed up just like the rear. Matt

Doesn't look like they are using much of the rotor surface.

How much for everything...spindles (2) uprights (2) hubs (2) rotors (2) calipers(2) and pads???
just wondering since we are looking at different options for our truck.

I checked out the hub at Terribles Town, it is a nice piece. What is bitchin is the the way the hub is machined you can actually unbolt the rotor, rotate it and pull it off to change it without having to remove the whole hub assembly from the vehicle.

I was thinking I'd have chosen the 6 piston version, or if that was too much piston area that I'd have gone with the DynaPro and it's dust seals. In fact, I'd go with the DynaPro as my first choice.

It's misleading because of the shape of the rotor on the other side.

TDOR -- What wheel (is there a particular wheel) and what tire size were these spindels designed for?
TDORSloppy

They were built around a 17" wheel with 0 offset (Beadlock Gordon wheel) and a 35" tire. The king pin inclination is at 14 degrees.
