preran large chunks of the vegas to reno course this weekend... deeeep ruts through some silty sections, similar ruts in deep sand at the edges of the dunes that run through the fallon bombing ranges.

Somewhere in the middle of straddling umpteen miles of rutsI started thinking that maybe possibly it might be nice to have 35s w/ a total chaos suspension instead of 33s.

Jason was having similar thoughts, and he was running 33s on his pickup (see the prerunner thread) w/ a total chaos caddy kit.

Are 35s just too much for a 22RE to spin, even if it's geared correctly? Anybody running 35s on a yota pickup or 4runner? Would the extra weight beat on break and suspension performance?

my fiance wants me to get my truck setup before the next prerun... thanks to Jason for getting her in a properly setup truck to see how much mo' comfortable a full suspension is... got the suspension kit and rear springs figured, now I'm thinking about tires and shocks.

my yota has a 22R, and 35's. ive been running them for over 2 years now, no suspension or steering breaking issues. i run a 9" axle with a 5.67 gear and spool. it did ok before for what it was, but im adding more HP right now. i like having the larger tire to fill holes and give more ground clearance.

We just switched from 33's to 35's on the race truck (7s 4x4 Toyota with a V6, 5:29 in a 9") and first test was excellent. No HP loss felt what's so ever. We did have to tube the cab 3+ inches to clear the front (has fiberglass bed skins on rear). We run Total Chaos on our pre-runners and havn't gone to 35's because of the front cab clearance issue.
