I was down in Mexico this weekend for some R&R with the lady and saw a few RDC stickers. One at curios taco shop right next to La Mision/La Fonda, and another on one of the poles at the border crossing, it put a little smile on my face seeing the site I love so much being promoted. Driving Mexico in the rain is scary, talk about mud slides and washed out roads, I am glad I have a truck.

I think people should start taking pictures of the cool places they are putting/seeing the RDC stickers and post them here.
Maybe John, Klaus and the other RDC guys could run a contest with the coolest place an RDC sticker has been seen? The winning photo gets a Tshirt or video.

not doubting that it works, but a question for ya, obr...why the multiple coilovers at each corner on the car? is there a particular advantage to that set up??? seems like it'd be a bit heavier than a single coilover and a bypass per wheel...
that's gotta be an award for farthest RDC sighting, by the way!!! http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Weight is not really a problem, but the way we see it is that when we bought the car it was set-up sweet, and I still havnt been or seen a car in Australia that can go through the 'whoops' like this thing can, i know it is a beam car but i'm sure anyone he has seen it will back me up. So we really have no need or want to change it. But I do see what you are saying, the thing is what if we turned it into a pig by changing the suspension?? thanks for the comment though. Cheers

When I was driving to Tahoe last winter I saw an RDC sticker at a gas station in Lone Pine. I was kind of suprised "look allison an rdc sticker!" and she said "umm, okay and..." It was exciting for me. I decided to snap a shot and thought about starting a post like this too...anyway that had to be the most random place I have seen one since there are no deserts or races nearby

Races maybe, but the desert is right there. Partly created by Mulholand and his gang of MWD thugs (Owens now Dry Lake - used to have a paddle wheeler on it btw) and partly already there. The White Mtns screen a large protion of the desert from easy view, but it's there. Go due east out of Lone Pine 30 miles and you're in high desert within the boundary of Death Valley Nat'l Park.
There's an RDC sticker on the sliding door to the beer/soda cooler in a burger joint at the ocean end of Seaward here in Ventura.

We are always willing to give away shirts, stickers, videos etc for interesting photo and locations of RDC whether its a shirt or sticker. We love all of the support from our readers and it makes our day to see someone rockin a sticker on a car/truck and to see a shirt somewhere makes my week big time. Its a great feeling knowing someone would want to support us in the way to represent us on a shirt.

I was wearing my RDC shirt at the Denver Grand Prix last weekend and a guy from the BFG trailer came out to say hi to me becuase of the shirt. When I turned to greet him I realized he was wearing a Pflueger shirt. He said that he workes for Pflueger in the dirt and BFG for the street stuff. I thought that it was cool to have someone out in Denver to recognize RDC and to come and say hi.

Any hope of getting the logo scanned so it can be made into a patch to be sewn onto firesuits? The industry software most used is called "Tajima". I know that Filler Safety in Sunland uses it to make embroidered patches from scans. So does Simpson down in Torrance. Would be nice to be able to show RDC colors at the B1k..... Especially with NBC filming it.

Mad?? No, think a good thread has gone to waste fast = yes. But I know who is having fun and who is posting because they like to post 20 times a day on every thread = post whore. If I could afford to order a ton hats and jackets I would. Right now its not in RDC (mine) budget. If I have enough interest I will make the investment into some flexfit hats, once the initial investment has been made to setup the embroidery machine then I think it gets cheaper to have Jackets and such done. I will talk to people at the expo and have an answer on hats next week.

I'm going to drop by Filler Safety next week and see what it costs to get the logo scanned, transferred or whatever you call it. I'll ask what they suggest to use so Klaus and the boys can step up to small pocket-size patches, or big, across the back of the suit patches. My understanding is they can also change colors to contrast against the color of the suit, too. More info as soon as I talk to them.

October 6th, 2004, 18:58
John,
What if we paid for the hats or jackets or whatever prior to them being made so that it wouldnt cost anything out of pocket besides possibly the firsts to show what the production version will look like? Or talk to Travis and Dirt Alliance and see who he goes through, since he isnt pushing huge orders I am sure he could tell you costs and what not and where to get some stretch-fit hats that can get embroidered.
Oh and some OG house slippers would be nice as well. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/wink.gif

House slippers rule, I got a gray and black pair(for around the house). They are OG Walmart slippers no DVS ones for me.. After I pay the initial embroidery setup its just a per peice charge after that. We can do anything and everything from jackets, hats, beanies, slippers, socks, polo shirts... I am looking into it and will get some stuff made up in the next couple of weeks. I will keep everyone up to date.

I'll see the firesuit guy on Monday, get prices and let J. B. know. It's only 40 days till we head south for the 1000, gotta get 'er done asap. I think that lots and lots of people would like to sport their colors on their firesuits not only for the B1K, but for next season. What we want to avoid is turning on the news and seeing the grainy black and white video of a dude wearing a baseball cap with the "RDC" logo holding up a convenience store. You might want to contact Terri Nicks at Parker Pumper/Embroidery In Motion. They are in-house at Parker Pumper in Mira Loma. She does all of my embroidery work as well as for many race teams including Riviera, Enduro, Grove Lumber, C&D Fab, etc.
Since they are a current advertiser with RDC, you might have some "negotiating" power.

Damn straight there is an RDC sticker on my back window! I am a proud lurker and occasional poster on this here board. Funny, I think I use the PM function about 10-times as often as I post on here. RDC is a great resource that a lot of people take for granted. Ensuring that the sticker was visable in the magazine article was my lame attempt at showing support for the board and all of the people who take the time to make it happen and contribute positive things here on RDC.

I saw a guy and his girl in a white F150, probably late 90's at the corner of Main and Telephone in Ventura yesterday with a RDC sticker in the back window. It had a fox sticker to. Cool to see http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/cool.gif
