the largest ibeam ford built were dana 50 models from what i know. they came on extra cab only f250 models from like 81-97.some of the early models were used on f350s before the dana60 solid axle was used. i believe the outer hub is larger and the inner axle ujoints are larger as well. good luck

He is talking about 2wd

I-beams=2wd
twin traction beams=4wd

But to answer the question. The easiest way is to count the lugs. 1/2 ton will have 5 lugs 3/4 and 1 ton will have 8 lugs.

The 1 ton had a 1" kingpin instead of a 7/8" and the spindle is the biggest on the 1 tons. Both 3/4 and 1 tons were 8 lug, but obviously the 1 tons are the beefier of the 2
