Hello everyone, newbie here. Is there a slip in heim, uniball or some sort of bearing that can be installed in cast beams? If not what replacement bushings are recomended instead of stock bushings?

that's a forged beam. What is wrong with the stock bushing?

I have a camburg performance 5.5 lift. After a couple of trips to the desert, I noticed that when I back up, the camber changes (kind of like this \ / ) and the whole front end rises up two to three inches. Lee and Sons (great alignment shop in fullerton) said that I should replace the I-beam pivot bushings. They thought there was a "bearing" that could be installed instead of a bushing. I haven't been able to find one. I ordered polyurethane replacement bushings from 4 wheel parts, but I would rather have something better that a bushing.

Is that the only problem? I think that's pretty standard when it comes to beams. When I reverse I get some toe-out and the front drops a couple inches. Although I am also interested in replacing the bushing with a uniball, if anyone else has any info.

it raises or lowers due to your toe settings. When I bent a tie rod and the toe was in pretty bad it lowered my truck in the front and gave me about 5 or more degrees negative camber driving forward...I adjusted the toe and it went back to 0 degrees camber forward and my truck went back to normal ride height.

Like Kritter said. It is you TOE... If you fix the TOE and it still does it maybe the bushing is bad and flexing causing the toe to change.

If the toe is to far in the truck will raise when you pull forward. If the truck is towed out it will lower.

Thanks guys. I should get the bushings in the next day or two. After I install the bushings and get some new tires I will have it aligned and check the toe.

Dave's frame they are one of the best. no computers.. He builds and has built drag cars, for street and sand. He sets up tons of porsch and rally stuff, scca etc... He really knows I beam suspension. You need to make a time to go in there and will need to have your truck in there first thing in the morning to use him. His customer service is a 0 but his quality is a 10. He is really cool but does it his way. But like I said he is one of the best.
