Mounted a new Fuel safe cell and would like to use my stock gage. The cell came with a 240-33 ohm (Chrysler type) sending unit and has three terminals on it. The stock gage has two wires. How do I get this to work?

I just went through this with my tank, Areo 30 gal. What I did was to cut the sending unit off of the stock pick up then mounted it to the pickup in the new tank made some bends to acomidate the extra depth and bingo. The problem was I was not sure of what ohm the sending unit was working in, and it feeds the computer so rather then figure out the electrical I just did the mechanical.

First confirm that the old sender is of the same resistance range.
W/o removing the new sender you're going to have to get out the DVOM and test what each terminal does. I would take notes as you progress. If not already labeled, label each one so you can keep them straight.
Check continuity to ground for each one. If no direct grounds then:
Check resistance btwn one & each of the others. Check resistance btwn the 'others'. One of those combos should be the resistance you are looking for.

If one is a direct ground then the other two should be the two you are looking for.
