Who is selling a bolt on coilover and upper arm? I wish it was as simple as just slapping on a coilover, but the upper BJ is almost max'd out at full droop with the stock 2wd suspension. I see cheezy 2.5 inch urethane spacer kits on the web and thats about it and im not half assin a new truck. Gonna be 800,000 of these on the road by June and nobody is selling a good kit to at least level them out!!! i see stuff for 4wd but I dont understand the difference...it appears the spindle is the same, but the upper arm may be different?

I know CST, Donahoe Racing, Fabtech, and Rancho all C/O's similar to the Tundra/Tacoma lifts in the works and Glassworks will have fenders.

The kit is the same for the 2X and 4X. The mounts are just moved down on the frame for more clearance on the 4X. JD has the kits in stock but is in the process of moving shop. I'll have there new number later today.

not looking to thread hijack ya, but has anyone noticed how close the rear shocks are to the tires? i see they've mounted 'em outboard of the frame now. i think it'd be a little tough to throw a bigger tire under there, without going to a different rim/backspacing, as there was not much clearance at all

Yeah, the one they did for SEMA had to have different rims to clear the bypass's in the rear. But they handle so well with them out that far.

The thing rides like a cadillac and rails corners with hardly any roll....I just want to level the thing out, but it NEEDS an upper arm.

Kritter,

I just put that urethane leveling kit on a friends truck and it really made the truck level and look much better. It is really cheap, and it is not that cheesy............for a temporary fix untill somebody makes a good kit. It is really easy, too. Since I have already done one, if you want to I will help you do yours, you could bring it down to the shop and we could have it knocked out in about 1.5 hours.

What does everyone think about putting 4X4 stock arms and shock on a two wheel drive?? I compared them both and it looks like the 4X lower is just beefer, the upper arm has more of a "dip" in it, and the "coilover" has a little extender on the bottom of it.

The arms are the same between 2X and 4X. Both lower arms are identical. The shocks are slightly different shape, but the same lenght. Coils are slightly heavier on the 4X, these are the only differances.

the upper arm must be different between the 2x and 4x or there would or will be ball joint break issues as I cant go over a speed bump and not have the suspension top out on droop and feel it inside the cab...THUD!

The truck was built before they had the tire's. Typical magazine rush job. Some bright guy at Goodyear decided to put 42's on it for the show after they told them it was going to run 37's. For the photo shoot it had the right rims and tires on it.

And yes, the upper arms are the same. I have had both off sitting on a table side by side. They are the same part.

Is the frame different? I called ford and the upper, lower, ball joint, and spindle are all same part numbers for 2wd and 4wd...

The mounts and the cross member on the 4X are about 2" lower on than the 2X. The spindles are the same dim's also. Everything will interchange betweem the two.
