Also if you use the right combination of fabrics it will up your "pimp" factor http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bet Ryans seats make the ladies go crazy!

i have the PRP in my truck, i love them. I have ridden in other vehicles with different seats, and i still prefer mine. Ill post some pics of them when i get home from school, they were also custom upholstered

I like them also i have two in my ranger. I have heard that in a racing enviroment the PRPs have bent frames in rollovers. I'am not saying that the frames have fully collapsed but the beards and mastercrafts have not. but for me in a rollover i would rather have my frame bend(a little) than my back. also PRP makes the kartek seats.

Do you guy's recommend getting the wider seats or are the standard seats roomy enough? I have a standard cab Tacoma that I would put these seats into.

alot of "bigger" guys go +2 my seats fit me super good absolutly no side to side movement. but then again i'am not that big pretty skinny so maybe for you a little wider may be better.

Seat size depends on your body size and the type of driving you do. In my race car, I use a standard size seat, even though in my prerunner I prefer a wide seat. The standard size fits my body tighter, thus a firmer hold though the rough stuff.

I am 6 foot, 215, and I got the 2+ wide seats they fit me a lot better than the standard width. I would reccomend them if you are a bigger guy.

im 220, 6'; and i have the standard seats in my toyota. they fit nice and snug. somewhat tight, but in a good way. i have driven in them to laughlin twice (from OC), and was amazed when i got out at how good they worked.

heres mine. i modified the stock sliders untill i get my 1.5" die but there on back order for like 2-3 weeks http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/mad.gif so witch brings me to my next question what have people done to make custom sliders when they get rid of the stock mounts?

mine does have sliders, mine is just a rectangle with seat tabs, then some posts that go down to the stock mounting holes. Its kinda a bummer not having sliders. u can kinda see it in the attached picture. I have thought about getting some 1.25 in flat stock, and drilling different hole positions so i could adjust it as needed. or maybe ill break down and buy some sliders

Yeah, go with the swap meet, lets make a deal $150 today, 200 tomarrow seats from "Beard," never...buy PRP because they are great to deal with or spend a little more for Mastercraft but I will never recommend Beard again.

Why not Beard? What about the new RSX seat they seem pretty dang nice.

Isn't PRP owned and run by the original owner of beard? I heard he sold beard and was unhappy w/ the way it was run so he started PRP. I could be waaay off though - it's happened before...

I HAVE TRUCKS W/PRP SEATS AND BEARD SEATS. THE TRUCK W/BEARD SEATS ARE THE ONES I WOULD CHOOSE FOR A LONG DAY IN THE DESERT. THEY ARE MORE COMFORTABLE PERIOD! GO TO KARTEK OR SOME WHERE LIKE THAT AND SIT IN THEM ALL AND MAKE YOUR CHOICE. THATS WHAT I DID AND I BOUGHT BEARD. MASTERCRAFT FELT REAL GOOD TO. GOOD LUCK!!

I own the Kartek suspension seats. Anybody know who makes them? They look just like Beard seats.

Jeepspeedster

PRP makes them. Kartek does not carry Beard seats.

It's real simple in my opinion, you get what you pay for.

KARTEK SEATS ARE MADE BY PRP. I HAVE A PAIR AND THEY ARE NOT AS COMFORTABLE AS THE BEARD SEATS IN MY RACE TRUCK. BUT THE PRICE WAS RIGHT.

Ed Beard was the origional owner of Beard seats. He just has to many other things going and decided to sell off the seat company to "Red Art". The guy who used to build Beard seat frames now works for renagade seats. Ed him self will tell you that a master craft seat is built better! But in my opinion every persons body is diffrent and will fit every seat companys seat diffrent, just be sure you sit in one before you buy it. I have beards in my truck and I would not trade them for anything because they fit my body so good.
It comes down to what feels good and how much you want to spend.

Does anybody use taller-than-normal seats? Who makes them, and how much more do they cost? I am 6'7".

Thanks

I think any of the companies will make them taller for you. I personally LOVE the beard ultras. They are taller (shoulders and headrest), have a wider headrest and a deeper seat. I had a set w/ the extra lumbar support before and wish I had that in my current set.
