Macdizzy.com is the best 2 stroke site I have found. That guy who runs it is pretty good. He is gonna charge now though starting the 1st of the year I think. There is good knowledge on that site. If its worth it to you I dont know?

DRN is good but has a TON of users... Sometimes too many. Thumpertalk to me is still the most quality forum out there but I guess it doesn't do much for you if you've got a 2 stroke...

Head is in the shop right now... I switched to the Stainless Steel valves and ditched the POS titanium ones. They're grinding the seats and installing the valves in the head for me. I'll toss the head back on, shim the valves and time it. It should be rocking again next week. I got a fresh new piston and rings in it too just for the heck of it and I also got a JD Jetting kit to toss in. I'm going to run it a weekend or two first though so that I can get used to the power and that'll let me determine if the kit really does what everyone claims it does. I want to get a Clarke Tank ordered for it soon also...
BTW, I bought my valves and non-oem parts on the TT store. The prices are great and the delivery is pretty quick. the valves were backordered everywhere it seemed so that wait was no big deal. Also, I ordered my OEM parts through www.servicehonda.com (http://www.servicehonda.com) and the parts were at my door 3 days later. Prices are good there also!!

The District 37 (AMA Desert Racing) Forums are pretty good, Destry Abbott, and a couple other big names are on there. I have used Service Honda as well...they are awesome, alot better than Crapparal.
Khris-
Call Baja Designs about your tank. Clarke is crap. I bought an IMS 3.6 tank for my CR. It's SOOOO nice to fill up once a day, I did have to get the forks revalved though, rides completely different, esp. through the whoops.

A Clarke tank allowed us to win the Baja 500, Baja Mex 300 and most recently, the Baja 1000. I'll repeat again what I said in September in this forum about IMS:
If you have the slightest inkling of desert racing the bike, get the natural. And of course, dry break (lots more $$$). The last 2 IMS tanks we bought for our race bike were defective. They did not cure the plastic right and the dry breaks did not fit. Instead of offering to replace the tanks, their solution was for me to take a dremmel tool and fix it myself. The last tank we bought from IMS was advertised at 3.0 gal, but when it arrived it was only 2.5 gallons. Unacceptable for Baja. We now have a Clarke 4.0 gal tank and worked great in our last 2 races.

Not to completely change the topic of this thread but I never had a single problem with the Clarke on my last bike. Also, I've sat on both the Clarke and the IMS for my bike and the Clarke feels better and closer to stock. Natural color, while maybe not my first choice for looks is most practical and what I will be getting.
I need to talk to Joe...

Service Honda also builds and sells the CR500AF (Aluminum Frame)??? They do it with the 3rd gen frame as well. Runs around 8-9 grand though from what I remeber in MXA. They've been doing it for several years but it has been getting real popular recently.

I've actually had the pleasure of riding one of those and if I had the money to own a stable of bikes, I'd have one. Slap a paddle on there and you'd own the dunes. General desert trips where you're not logging 100s of miles where the comfort of a XR650 is nice that bike rips. It's not the most practicle bike in the world but god damn is it fun!!!! On thumpertalk there's actually quite a few owners that have a SH CR500A and a normal CRF450 and they love them both. The 450 is a controlable practical bike and the 500A is just a fun as hell destroy anything in sight bike...
