Usually from an Authorized reseller in your area. Not sure about WI. Found this on Google:

I doubt this list is complete and not sure how up to date but hopefully at least a start.;)

Do a search for Goengineer. They are accross the country and are the nations #1 reseller of the software. If you end up buying from them and you pay for the service contract you will get the best available tech support as well.

im not 100% sure its still the same but when i spoke with a rep the new version of SW student edition was 189 the difference she told me between the complete program and the student version was that you couldnt import or export files, but you have full acces to all the features of SW including COSMOS.

Thats only a download and you dont get the actual disk,
On another note do you have to resubscribe or rebuy a "seat" every year or 2?

You dont have to do anything but with every new release...it is not backwards compatible so if somebody with a current license sends you a file, you will not be able to open it.

If you buy from Goengineer and pay the service contract you will recieve the lastest updates (service packs) through out the year and the latest software about this time every year as long as you keep your service contract current. The service contract cost between $1500-$1700 a year. Not that expensive to get the completely new software every year.

I believe the stripped down version, not the student version, is just under $4,000.00. It is what Goengineer calls the Core Package. I don't think it comes with the Tool Box plug in but I think you can add that later if you like but I think all the other basic features of the software are accessible.

Install windows on your mac and your good to go,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I guess. I'm not a mac guy so have very little knowledge in the area. But, when I was with the Herbst we used to deal with a guy who is an applications engineer for Goengineer. He ran Solidworks on his mac via windows. He would also tell you that Goengineer and Solidworks do not support Solidworks on a mac. This was a couple years ago now so things might be different. I think the reason he told us that was because Windows on a mac at that time was still pretty new and they didn't know much about windows on the mac let alone Solidworks.
