View Full Version : GAS prices going down!?!?!?!

Racer21(Roberto)
July 24th, 2008, 00:12
here in Las vegas gas prices are slowly going down. very slowly, but they are going down. anywhere else???

my prediction is that they will be at $3.00-$3.50 by riding time again. (september-october)

by the way this is proof that hurricanes dont effect the gas prices. on the news im watching the hurricane down in mexico/texas.

anyone else want to express your joy, or your predictions (good or bad) about the gas prices?

i hope it starts to go down

In my short life on this planet I have yet to see much go down in price. It doesn't make sense to me. A bottle of water costs more than a bottle of soda?

1 month ago...4.65 was the cheapest.

I hope this is a sign of good things to come:D

the oil companys always do this. they run it up, piss us all off, then back it down so everyone is happy, then hammer us again til we're all pissed, then back it down a bit. each time they're still at more than they were before they initially began. just when you think they might be human and have just a hint of compassion, then they start the process all over again. they're cockroaches and not in the business of doing anyone any favors. even when everything is upside down. it's all about the bottom line. get out the raid or black flag. and your pinche wallet.

I so agree with you Randy and if we ever see prices below $3.50 a gallon, I will be amazed. With that said though, prices were at $3.87 a gallon here yesterday afternoon (vs. $3.99 last week); didn't notice the price this morning.

by riding season we will all be able to enjoy riding longer with less stress.

how will this effect the off-road racing community? will it make it so we have more races, and more entrees in the races???

I remember when it hit 2.80 and I freaked out because it cost me $75 to fill up my Ram. I can't imagine what it wouuld be like now (traded for a hybrid). I still don't think that it will go below $3 though. The world is used to paying $4+ right now, and just as you said "were happy about it going down to $4.30." Thats how they !@#KING get us. Thats ok though because when it bursts like the housing market I can laugh at all of those people that made millions off of oil and watch them burn in it.

Contrary to what you and others might think, the oil companies do not have unlimited control over the price of crude oil or gasoline. Sure they are making record profits, but they are not manipulating the market.

It's a sad state of affairs when we're happy gas is "only" $4.39.
I'm old enough to remember the fake "gas shortage" of the
70's. The stations didn't know what they were going to
when it hit $1.00 a gallon because the pumps could only
go to .99 cents. No one ever dreamed it would get that high.

A station near the freeway that is notoriously over priced hit a high of 4.75 a few weeks ago but now it is 4.14. Not bad. No gas prices wouldnt be so high if we would drill our own f-n oil, taking the dollar of the gold standard didnt help either. another thing is the dems creating a sheetload of red tape for us to go through to lower said prices.

The bottom line is he who has the oil has the power. If we ended US speculators they will just move overseas and do it there and our prices will be manipulated in another time zone...nothing changes.....

Beyond that it is supply and demand. I am demanding we tap into our own supply beneath the US.

Some news reports are saying now the decrease in fuel indicates a severe recession as the consumers are running out of cash to drive at any price..that is slowing the demand for gas down and dropping the price..I see in my business that costs are leveling out finally but I think the consumer dollar is out of whack another 4-6 months.

Amen to this above!

I was listening on the politcal channel on Sirius Satelite Radio the other day and they were talking about something that was going to Congress, what they said is the current oil in Alaska from drilling with one oil rig could last us 20-30 years. They said that they would have a setup that is less then 200 acres in Alaska and could have multiple oil rigs drilling and it would last 50 years. By that time the technology of cars and trucks would allow the MPG to increase drastically compared to what they our now without breaking the bank for the purchasers. Which 50 years from now the could also stop or slow down the drilling because of the demand being lowered back to what it was in the early 2000, 2001. The Alaskan senator were both supporting this and telling Congress this is what needed to happen. Just a thought.

I am looking for the article online still, but thought it was interesting.

If you discount the Global warming scam, there is nothing wrong with oil. The anti-capitalist left has made oil into the boogey man. Even if we did not burn gasoline the need for oil would continue. When the right alternative comes along it will replace gasoline. Until then we need to use the abundant supplies we have. Remember oil is 100% natural. :)

its a great read, but what about the record high profits the oil companies are making?
just cuz we buy more food, and spend more money doesnt mean gas prices should go up. we just need to find a way out of fossil fuels period, and find differnt means of fuel. but way easier said then done.

Dan,

that is so funny ....when prices were going up back in March (spring break time period) I went to a local station that consistantly has cheap prices on gas to fill up the Motorhome. I start filling it at 3.14 per gal and hit the 75.00 mark. Pump shuts down and won't take my card, so I go in and give the clerk my card go out and start pumping, only this time the price is 3.18! I go back in and say wtf? The clerk states he had waited all day for the tech to switch pump prices and when the guy came he had to do it! I said you could not have waited? Have not been back since!
