Dem-Controlled Congress w/Single Digit Approval Rating

Congratulations to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi on achieving a remarkable milestone. For the first time in American history, the public's approval of Congress has fallen to single digits. From Rasmussen (http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/congressional_performance/congressional_performance), via Drudge (http://www.drudgereport.com/): This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Even the fools who elected our current Congress are disgusted:
The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month. Encouragingly, independents have an even lower opinion of our Democrat Congress than Republicans do, with 3% and 8%, respectively, offering positive ratings. There are probably more people who believe Elvis is alive than who think Reid and Pelosi are doing an acceptable job.


I'm guessing that Louis XVI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_XVI_of_France) and Nicholas II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_II_of_Russia) would have scored higher ratings right before they lost their jobs. No government this despised by the populace it exploits can last forever. Yet we're told (http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=27013) that Dems will actually gain seats in November, and that they'll probably take the White House too, providing a rubber stamp for the policies that fewer than one in 10 Americans has a use for.

I don't understand how it is possible to perform as they have against the will of the people (their Bosses). If they were in the private sector and had a approval rating like this they would be sacked.

Yep, looks like people are getting tired of the right/left debacle, and want these people to actually do something. Imagine that, the government actually doing what we elected them to do...run the country for our benefit, not special intrests or for thier political future.

I think if a third party canidate came forward that offered a middle ground and a sound policy not grounded in doctrine they could sweep the election.

Oh well, most likely it will be four more years of the same.

I have noticed government at all levels have the same attitude. We pay out the arse so they can exist. If they have to actually do something it costs extra. :mad:
