Thank you for posting that PJC. Everything he said is 100% correct and scary at the same time. Why haven't the dipsh**s on capital hill realized that yet? We could become almost 100% self sufficient as a country but keep getting held back by idiots that want to ruin everything this country was based on. People say we don't need to be dependent on oil and think we need to go strait to alternative, cleaner burning fuels but as Mr. Gingrich said, it won't happen over night. We will need oil for a long time as we phase it out but relying on other countries when we have our own is stupid.

I wish Newt would have hung in there, this country really needs him as President.

Great post PJC....I've been arguing for a release of the strategic reserves for quite some time. Why Bush won't authorize it or even mention it just shows what a moron he is and how he doesn't care. I agree with the nuclear power idea as well. I say we start building them asap! I'm just not sold on the increased drilling, I'm still not sold on that being the solution however if that was part of a comprehensive overall new energy plan I'm compromise in a heartbeat. I just get frustrated when people think if you magically start drilling today the price of oil will go down tomorrow. Its just not the case!

I agree with this 100%. Why do we want to keep crippling ourselves? We all know our energy sources will have to change, but are not going to change them overnight. Open the reserves!

Indeed, I like the strategic reserve idea, if only for a month. I do believe that McCain has mentioned this as well. I will need to do some research.

I regard the energy speculators on the very same level as the jackholes that perpetrated wide scale mortgage fraud with the publically traded builders as the very worse.

Me Neither!!! This is turning out to be an interesting day.

About the video...I really enjoyed the part about sticking it to the oil speculators for betting against America.

I don't see where JrSyko is agreeing with pjc as much as he is agreeing with Gingrich. But whatever.

Newt has been saying this for awhile and it is ignored by the elected fools who are payed off by the people that this kind of sound energy policy would hurt the most. Only 5 more months of Bush and his ilk and then the country can get back on it's feet. That is if McCain wins.

WooooHooooo, Punish the speculators! Personally, I think you shouldn't be allowed to buy crude unless you can take physical possession of it.

Thanks Pat...good findings. Next time you see the enviro freaks....ask a couple questions....

1-How did you get to your precious meeting? Maybe in your CAR??
2-We've kept records on weather for how long? 2000 years...and the Earth has gone through how many heating/ cooling cycles??

We have oil to be 100% self reliant, while getting on our feet with other energy sources. First firm to bake the shale under the Rocky Mountains wins...Rand Corp. estimates 200-250 years of oil in the shale.

From what I understand McCain is on the wrong side of most of the rational energy policy ideas I've heard. I want a 3rd choice please. Newt would do but he's not "sensitive" enough to get elected. Where is the candidate outlining a cohesive total energy strategy that spans near-term mid-term and long-term needs with the goals of energy independance, low cost energy to enable recovery of our transportation, manufacturing, farming, etc. AND done in a responsible sensible way with rational comprmises on the environment? I'm not hearing a solid plan from either one of the clowns running for the top job. And I'll vote for which ever candidate comes closest with all other issues taking a back seat this time. Hello Washington? Earth calling. We need help here.

Ryno, the eco-extortionists do not want us using fossil fuel in way, shape or form. And count on them to come up with some wild, BS complaint if Electric Cars become the norm as well for at the end of it all, these jackholes want 90% of us dead and the rest living in communes or caves.

All of these traitors should be in GITMO. Every last one of them.

You constantly crack me up. You are so blind to who is really behind this. But live your fantasy and enjoy your hatred, it seems to be what you live for. The real traitors are the ones you support.

How typical.. You don't have a legitimate rebuttal so all you can do is spew insults.

Grow up Trey.

Furthermore, being an off-roader and not having distinct disdain for the enviro-guilt extortionist corporations, their leaders and their lemming like minions is like being a Jewish store owner and bidding on catering contracts in Nazi Germany.

Come on Pat, you don't honestly believe they want us all dead do you? You missed your calling, you should have been a shock jock because sometimes the inflammatory stuff you say is just so out there. I picture you just laughing away as you type this stuff, wondering what kind of reaction you'll ellicit.

We have been in this position before. The late '70's had us bowing at the alter of OPEC. Carter was a coward, however he did note that cutting our dependence on mid east oil was tantamount to war and would get their attention very quickly. He just did not have the stones to do it. Along came Regan. He told OPEC that they could charge what ever price they wanted to we were just not interested in buying. Thus the Texas oil boon of the 1980's.

Be intellectually honest and agree that we will not be off petroleum products in our lifetime. We need to drill here and drill now to send the message to the speculators and OPEC. This with realeasing some of the strategic reserves will tell the world that we will not be held hostage by cutting off our vital needs. Our country does so much for the rest of the world and these countries think that we are such a-holes. I for one am real sick of it. Our "global image" should be what we in fact are, and that is the beacon of freedom and a kind people who's tax dollars make it able for them to eat. Our generous donations clothe the impoverished masses all over the globe. The list goes on and on. To say that you dont agree with the current administration for what ever grievence you may have is childish. The country is divided and has been for about 40 years. There is no leader on the horizon that will bring us all together so lets stay out of the fantasy land that we thought we were promissed as children. Until we all grasp this simple idea we will be divided. Nothing that the federal government has to offer you will fill any void that you think you have in your life. The government does not owe you all of the trappings of life that you see on MTV Cribs. Those comforts are earned, not a civil right. Do we have some greedy bastards? What nation doesent. Our leaders are not killing off masses of people that dont think the way that they do.

Rebuttal to your crazy rants? Why bother. You are a joke and you don't even see it. I enjoy your craziness because it proves that the world is full of lunitics and we have to be aware of the scam artist out there that will feed off the uninformed. You have show that time and again. Keep posting, I need a laugh.

The debate rages on. Opinions and such. Mine is better than yours? Who knows. I dont think anyones is better than anybodys.
Its odd to me, that speculators, would drive up the price of a commodity like oil. Its like shooting your foot with your own gun, ON PURPOSE. They end up taking it where we all do. Make it all and then spend it to try and keep it. To me, none of this is adding up. What the heck, I like eating dust for fun so what do I know?

Travis, a good number of the practicing and revered enviro-elite have said just that in a number of ways such as "Humans as a Cancer on the Biosphere" and "AIDS as the perfect disease to control the population" etc. etc. Maybe not, you live a fairly protected life. Here are direct quotes from the eco-gestapo.

Many more if you are interested.

----

"We have got to share this planet with the other living creatures, and sharing means not merely preserving them in zoos or National Parks, but setting aside huge areas. Whole regions perhaps that will be free of human interference. Ideally, I would like to see certain large areas of the planet set off-limits to human entry of any kind, even aerial over flights."

-Edward Abbey-Deep Ecology for the 21st Century: The Natural Wonder: An Ecocentric World View. New Dimensions Radio, 1998.

----

"Does all the foregoing mean that Wild Earth and The Wildlands Project advocate the end of industrialized civilization? Most assuredly. Everything civilized must go..."

-John Davis, editor of Wild Earth magazine

----

"The crucial paradigm shift the Deep Ecology movement envisions as necessary to protect the planet from ecological destruction involves the move from an anthropocentric to a spiritual/ecocentric value orientation...Humanity must drastically scale down its industrial activities on Earth, change its consumption lifestyles, stabilize and then reduce the size of the human population by humane means, and protect and restore wild ecosystems and the remaining wildlife on the planet."

-George Sessions, editorial advisor, Wild Earth magazine

----

"I believe that human overpopulation is the fundamental problem on Earth Today" [and] "We humans have become a disease, the Humanpox."

-Dave Foreman, Sierra Club, co founder of Earth First!

----

In order to stabilize world populations, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it."

-Jacques Cousteau, UNESCO Courier, 1991

----

Humanity is the cancer of nature.

-Dave Foreman, Earth First!

I don't currently use those bulbs and worry about the risks of them... My wife gets migrain headaches and these are said to trigger them. I have a small stockpile of incandescent bulbs but it won't lat me too long what can I do.

Also, almost noone I talk to knows the dangers of breaking one of these bulbs and cleans them up like nothing different, what about the mercury danger!!!

Scary Stuff, for sure!!!!!!!!!!
