hey,

what to look for when buying a prerunner? man there are almost too many things to type... i have looked at a BUNCH recently because we were in need of a prerunner and didnt have the time to build one... nothing personal to anyone selling on the market, and i cant speak for everyone's vehicle, but from what i looked at in person was junk! i had the same budget as you fyi but obviously i was trying to spend as little as possible.. tubes in the rollcage not welded 360 around, tires that hit body etc. single shear on trailing arms. i could go on and on. anyway you have to throughly look at the vehicle, and determine the depreacited value on the hard parts (and if there is high quality fab and time put in you must consider that as well. if its kinda sloppy work just look at the value of the hard parts) on the vehicle and make an offer. at least this is how i do it. one thing great about right now is just hold out and wait, something good will come along that somebody will have to get rid of. Because of todays market

this is what we ended up buyin for 12,000.00 a brand new truck that still needed a shakedown, and belive me it needs some things changed and upgraded... This is us doing some testing.

Write down all the questions you are going to ask, then type them out print out a few copies. When you call on a vehicle ask all the questions then fill the answers in. This may sound stuip but after you call on a few vehicles you will have something to refer to. And will be able to compare parts and prices. It helped me hope it helps you.
