17x8 vs 17x9.....

Any special reason why MT offers their forged rims in a 17x8 and their cast rim in a 17x9 ? It seems like most of the cheaper rims on the market are offered in 17x9 and the higher priced are 17x8.

Just curious.

I pretty much figured that part out. Most people now days are running 17" rims are using wide tires to go with them on superduties, etc.

Do you think the extra inch on the 17x9 will make that much of a difference on a 37x12.50 when compared to a 17x8 ? Will it be like the differnce between a 15x8 and a 15x10, I hope not.
