So I noticed my passenger floor was getting wet for no apparent reason while driving my 97 suburban the other day, knew right away what it was though.

According to my shop manual, thats a pain in the azz replacement. Wondering if anyone knows any shortcuts to avoid taking the whole dash apart...

While I'm at it, does anyone know where there's a Chevy scrapyard in SoCal? I could use some replacement parts after a lil fender (and hood) bender.

on the 88-98's its a sinch! just remove the lower housing on the pass side of the dash. the heater core is right there. you DONT need to remove the dash or any shenanigans like that. ive done many in my day, and it shouldnt be more than a couple hours worth of work if you are fairly mechanical.

I actually have made it to 130K!!! I bought it from my dad, who bought it new. I lost a bet that that tranny would be out by 75K....I tow with it and it's still going strong!!!
Thanks for the advice guys!
