There are lots of SA rated helmets on the market, and the Bell helmet is one of the most popular. The M2 is the most popular of the Bell helmets in the $400 range un-wired. The BR-1 is the new replacement helmet for the M2. Has a bit nicer pivot tension device and drops just a bit lower in the chin area. They come in white, black and flat black.

Nice helmet, has a small chin spoiler so don't drop it. We modify the intake port slightly for better performance and pumper hose fit.

M2 FA 449.00 wired with speakers an ear buds. http://www.upr.com/product.phpproductid=513&cat=117&rid=front_page
Bell is still producing the M2 for UPR. We liked some of it's featured better than the new helmets, along with other improvements makes it a great choice.

Sa rated is not mandatory til 08, parker pumper & pci both carry the new helmets. got mine for $450 otd from parker pumper @ primm

Your HJC should be SA rated. As long as its a new one.

We just got in two BR-1 unwired helmets to be wired here at PCI and these things are pretty big. They weight in at 4.4 lbs wired. That's the heaviest helmet I've seen come in yet, I thought the pyrotect took the cake!

All these weights are blown and wired
M2 - 4.4 lbs
Pyrotect - 4.05 lbs
Simpson Sidewinder - 3.9 lbs
HJC AR-10 - 3.80 lbs (3.85 on the L-XXL)
HJC Carbon - 3.55 lbs
HJC SI-12 - 3.25 lbs

I like my PCI AR-10 a lot except for the $69 replacement shields.

anyone have an old m rated helmts they want to get rid of cheap. size L i need a spare for passangers in my prerunner.

Just sent you a pm, our helmet trade list is getting a little bigger. Still open to anyone who wants to buy/sell M rated helmets that are relatively new (M2005 only), and in good shape!
