Does anyone know where I can get a book of some sort that lists all rules to pass MDR TECH. I am building my first ranger and I want to race it in MDR. I dont want to start without knowing the rules??

The MDR safety rules and class rules are available on the MDR website. Near the very bottom of the page.

Is there anything else I need to know that isnt on the MDR page?? What king of cage do I need? DOM, or mild steel?

It must be Dom or 4130, most rules are the same as Score.

Many mild steel vehicles have passed with zero problems. Make sure you are 360 welded, door bars and the proper diagnols and you shouldnt have problems. All considering the work is decent.

Almost every desert truck is made of mild. Especially since HREW, 1020 DOM, 1026 DOM and 4130 are all mild steels.
I have no idea why people on desert sites only refer to hrew as mild when all of these materials are mild steel. Can anyone explain this to me?

You are right it is mild steel or a form of it. The point is that it must be seamless not a welded seam tubing. DOM is Drawn Over Mandrel, steel pushed through a form or something like that. I am not 100% but I think it is like making pasta, ha ha.

Read A.R.T.'s Rules!
Some times they enforce them some times they don't, and sometimes the make stuff up.
