Why does he sit in the corner or sneak around at events and not walk around handing out his card and shaking hands with people, introducing himself? Reason: Maybe once and for all he can be asked questions that may be easy to answer when your hiding behind a key board, but in front of someone who can retort any accusations or statements made is a different story. Give Jim and Pete some slack... They are a media outlet that talks about everything offroad. If there is something controversial and people should know about it then of course they should ask the person questions. Does that mean they support the person? I don't think so.

There is no reason TORR should be slammed for asking a person questions unless they were supporting the persons wrong doings. Does having him on the show to ask him questions immediately mean that they support him? If you think so then you have problems.

Just remember that TORR is a "Media" outlet. Everybody should get their chance to speak. It always gets lost in today's media that stories are always one-sided. You never get the other side. This is a talk radio show. Let this guy say what he has to say and answer people's questions. Sure there are those that don't want to be associated with "said caller/guest" but those also don't have to listen to him. OJ Simpson went on numerous talk shows and media outlets and still gets coverage. People don't like him. Do people shut him out because he possibly is the murderer? Larry King brings controversial guests on his show ALL the time. Thats media and thats what sells. Controversy. On the other hand the show is a great outlet for off-road information and discussion just like many of the online forums. Just my 2 cents.

Overcast "interview:" Overcast is a total sleaze bag. Did anyone fall for his used car salesman schtick and "attempt to divert the subject" routine? I was already laughing at his opening statement about advertising some meaningless website. He clearly LIED about being banned from just one website; he tried to make the audience think that he and ProBaja (the real and only promoter of the Baja Sur 500) are good "friends," and he constantly referred to the race as the "Cabo 500." He tapped-danced around the assertion he phoned a RDC member's mom and threatened her. He could not state one race team of the "50 teams he has contacted" to race the Baja Sur 500. And really, really laughable was the statement "Gary Newsome lives in Ensenada" and is a real person (when that IP address is the same as Overcast's). Did he really pay the purse a racer deserved in last year's Overcast 500? His "mission" of introducing U.S. racers to Baja Sur racing? Oh, please.

2) I preran with Matt Carter, the dos mares 500 last year, and Matt was in the same situation in getting ripped off. I havent talked to Matt in quite a while so I dont know what has happened between him and Overcast recently.

I know Matt Carter, me, my pops, and Overcast had a meeting, where Overcast was proposing a $28,000 video to be made of my team...I laughed..and said no.

Pete and the TORR crew do an awesome job. I really enjoy the radio broadcast and especially becuase its very portable. The AM signal doesnt make its way all the way to Austin Tx! I think sometimes I hear it though on my Am radio! :eek:

Im sure the Media Director from CORR, Deanne Verdango would not know anything about Overcast because she is focused on CORR Racing and not Baja.

I think if there was a way to black list him with event organizers then he would have to buy a regular genreal admission ticket and not use his "media outlet" to get credentials when he obviously is not covering the CORR event for journalistic reasons.

At least he would not be able to hang out in the shade with catered food and the best seat in the house.

If you read twoards the beginning of this thread you will get a feel for some of the bulls#17 he has pulled. Listen to the TORR show from september 12th and you will very quickly get a feeling of what he is all about and how he is a blatant liar and con artist. I've never dealt with him personally but from what I have seen, heard, and read, he's a class A douchebag.
