I dropped by Tracy Rubios shop in Kingman Az today to drop off my Vision X lights for a light bar he's building me and this is what I saw. The front and rear arms are a thing of beauty, very well thought out, easy to work on (lots of room), basic layout, not re-inventing the wheel. Some #'s, 125" wheelbase, approx 750hp, 26" front travel, 32" rear, possibly more. I'm use to looking at Geiser's and SPD trucks, kinda nice to see a new builder. He let me take some pictures, talked with me for a little bit then got back to work. I know he was won championships in his 3 previous built trucks (7s, 7 unlimited and stock full), it will be interesting to see how this one does after he gets the bugs worked out of it. I think it's for sale too!!!!! Give him a call if your interested....928.757.4668.

He's shootin' for the SNORE Midnight Special race in 2 weeks. The truck is very close to being complete. As for the fuel cell, I think it's 60 gallons.

MAN!! that truck looks familiar wait wtf TWO seats?!
Which pattern? the TNC is the shop name and the ripple on the a-arm is for shock clearence he also notches the the end of the shock at the bottom for more clearence.
On the front of the a-arms he can put just about any pattern you could want thanks to the water jet. Like the stars on beavers TT
Great looking truck. Itll be nice to see two TNC TTs on the course
Tracy, Chad, and RD do great work

Thats teh first billet upper sontrol arm Ive seen. All the others use a steel weldment that bolts to the arm to locate the upper joint. But maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

Tracy does some of the nicest work i have ever seen, last time i was up there all it needed was to be wired. I believe the fuel cell is right around 65 gallons. Cant wait to see some more TT coming out of the TNC shop!

Why such a small cell? You would think it would be 80 or more.

I dont know but my guess would be weight of the fuel, he saves atleast 400lbs when the cell is topped off.

It looks like the lower arms have little or no room for misalignment. Seems like when the truck goes around corners or when when arm is articulated up and the other down that it would cause a great deal of stress at the shock mounts?

Smithbuilt (Herbst) Trucks have had billet upper arms since their beginnings..

Most TT have cells in the 65 gallon range. Tires on a TT wont last more than 250-300 miles so if you are stoped for a tire change you might as well fill it up.

80-65=25 gallons smaller.
gas is around 7.5-8.0lbs
25X7.5=187.5lbs
25X8= 200lbs
Plus you could take away a little for the extra material used to make a larger cell.

Gas is more like 5-6lbs. per gallon.
and lmao.... 80-65 is 15 buddy.
15x6=90+maybe 20lbs. tops of added fuel cell weight.

It is a little hard to see, but it looks like there is little room between the outsides of the bottom shock eye and the inside plating of the arms. So I'm curious why the bottom shock mount wouldn't bind into the inner plating on flex?

Yeah I am a math genious. One day you too will realize that 80-65=25 also. JK.
Are you sure gas is only 5-6lbs. I am pretty sure that its more, but it is obvious that I am not always right. (judging by my math skills)

C12 has a specific gravity of .717 per VP, and water weighs 8.3454 lbs/gal. That means C12 weighs in at 5.9837 lbs/gal.

What "flex"? Are you thinking that the "arms" will bend/deflect and the Shock will hit the mounts? If any part of a truck is Flexing that much, shock clearence is the least of its problems.
Are you talking about Trailing Arms or A-arms?
Do you really think that someone with Tracy Rubios experience would design a Trophy Truck that has shock clearence issues?
I have seen the truck and it is beautiful in every way.
By the way, I am only busting your balls about your post so that this site doesn't end up like desert rangers. It would suck if everytime new pics get posted people post negative little one liners without engineering merit.

Hahahha :D
When you search "weight gallon of gasoline" of google, this is the first page that comes up
http://www.santacruzpl.org/readyref/files/g-l/gasoline.shtml and it says gas is 5.8-6.5 gallons.
(It obviously can vary a lot depending on octane, additives etc.)
A couple pages from my google search say gas is around 8lbs. per gallon though.
