I am sure that Brad wilson and everyone at penhall fab are extremely excited for their new car and so I thought that I would share my excitement for my new KREGER FABRICATION 2-1600! This car actually belongs to Luis and Roberto out of Cabo San Lucas. They had plans of racing the Baja 500 next week but due to other engagements I do believe they are not going to make it. Look for them soon and me soon after that!

A few notes - This car is completly engineered and built in house at Kreger Fabrication.
The entire chassis is fixtured throughout. Even the wiring harness!
Top of the line- best of the best parts and most importantly built to new SCORE rules.

Super clean car! I love the way everything up under the hood/dash area is well thought out. One quick question...is the battery switch(I assume thats what it is on the passengers side) able to be switched from inside the car, maybe its an optical illusion from the picture. Good luck with it.

Thanks, the battery switch is on the passenger side and is accessible from the inside of the car.

Visit Kreger's website. Every one of their designs looks so well thought out and super clean. I love the class 10 car they do, and this is the first 2-1600 from them I have seen. What a great looking car! I know you are very proud, I know I would be! Great luck with it!

You hit it right on... that is one thing about Kreger that they do well.. they think through everything before working on that part of the car. All the wiring, plumbing, tubes etc are designed before a tube is layed on the cars. I am very fortunate to race with Hutchins in their 10 car and pre-run in their Fuertes and it never ceases to amaze us all every time we get in them how great these cars are and how well they handle.

The 12 car chassis will be similar to my chassis and the 10 car chassis cab but with wider beam and 10 car trailing arms i believe.... he is almost done with the 10 cars on the table and 12 cars are next. So no pictures of the new version yet. Call Derek Kreger for pricing. I am not so sure on that.

what does the car weight dry

I am not sure of my weight yet... Due to the new chassis rules per SCORE (tubing diameter etc)- We automatically are giving up weight to the grandfathered chassis.. there is just no way around that.

I keep hearing that minimum weight in the 1600's is going up thirty pounds to compensate for the extra material being used on the newer cars being built per the new SCORE Tech standards.

I suppose older cars will have to add balast.

Car looks really nice!

Ha, I learned how to drink there!!!:D :D :D

You used to see the stickers everywhere "Where the he** is the Salty Dog!".

I love the round roof look. Your seeing more and more of that rolled radius look instead of everything having 6" radius's and straights.:)

the 12 cars will be identical to the 10 cars all the way up to the A-pillars. then instead of the floor tubes curving up to the mid rail to clear the font suspension they will just shoot straight to the beam. the mid rails are identical too, just as a side note.

I would expect nothing less than perfection from Kreger's shop. Anyone who knows them would understand. Beautiful car guys, gotta love the hard lines for the power steering too!!

Is there a minimum weight limit in Class 12?

Is there a minimum weight limit in Class 12?

Not yet! Savage keeps saying hes changing all the classes and making minimum weights. Not sure how I feel about it in 12 and 10. 1600 for sure. It is just really hard on the manufacture side to build things as light as last years cars with another fab shop telling you how to build it. Luckily our cars are smaller that most to start with.;) Come on James....You need a new 12 car! We have more going on the table!:D

The only thing that bothers me is the back of the car. The engine compartment has no cross bar in it on the side. It looks like a big open space for a car to bump into the side and kill the exhaust, headers, etc.... Or a hit from the back looks like itd fold up the back end with the top back of the role cage as the pivot. just my .02

This is an awesome looking car though, great detail, new features, and very very clean. I'd take one in a heart beat!
