Thanks john. I never got a chance to thank you for the shocks. Maybe at the 500. I told matt to sell the yota and start on his family wagon.

Not to hijack, but how hard would it be to insulate, enclose, and A/C such a car? I imagine the hardest thing would be the doors - being able to open and shut and seal and keep the car structurally sound with the openings there.

Seriously though.....
The Wiks's V6 and the Folts automatic is a great combination for prerunning. The automatic is nice for many different reasons.
Where do I get a set of them fancy rear arms for mine?

Big fan of the car, looking forward to building something like this in a year or so. How has the life of the tranny been? How often are you having to go through it? Thanks-

Will has the auto also and his car was built in 2000. He has it gone through once a year and preruns every Score race at least once. TCS has a new style converter for them, that I installed in my car.

You will love that 4.3
Hamnes Bros did mine and it is simply awesome. So much torque, no need for an auto, just leave it in 3rd.

How much difference is the Jeff Fields auto to the Folts? I've got a Jeff Fields in mine, what kind of maintance are you guys doing on your trans? How often? average rebuild cost? Just curious what I'm getting into. I will be using mine for racing with a 5.3L V8 (moderate 360hp), but prerunning too. Thanks in advance.

Is yours the big auto (Krysler) or the van auto? We have the van auto,we have them gone through once a year. The most expensive rebuild i've had is 1300.00. That was new ring and pinion and clutches.
If you are running the V8 you must have the Krysler trans. I worked on e one that wide open had in a car with a 351 in it. They put 10,000 miles on it befor they had a problem. That car had a cooler 18" x 27" for the trans. It had no problems staying cool.

Jake,
I think it's the Big one (Krysler?). We were having trouble finding room for a radiator, oil cooler, trans cooler and air cleaner to fit so we got a C&R heat exchanger for the trans (per Jeff Fields). Jeff said it's more effeciant than a standard oil cooler and only takes up half the room. The ring and Pinion for my trans is only $250, but everything else is quite expensive. From what I've heard, as long as I can keep the trans cool and keep the oil clean I shouldn't have any problems. Thanks for your input, Auto's are new to me.
