PMC Racing makes its return to SCORE Desert Racing
For Immediate Release
As the clock strikes 3:00, on Saturday July 13, PMC Racing will be doing something in which they haven’t done in four years. All 8 cylinders of their 750 horsepower Ford F-150 will light off as they attempt to take home the first place trophy at the Inaugural SCORE Henderson Terrible 250.
“There wasn’t any one reason for us taking a sabbatical from the SCORE Series,” explains Jim Beaver. “It was just a combination of a lot of things, mainly my dad’s retirement.”
Dan Beaver, who is widely known for his 27 years of racing class 8 trucks in the SCORE Series, has now taken up a lot of the day to day operations of running the top notched desert racing team of the Parker, Arizona based PMC Racing. Dan, who has arguably taken as many starts in SCORE International competition in the past 27 years as any other competitor, is also the owner of Parker Motor Company, a Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury dealership in Parker, Arizona which also consumes much of his time.
“This just seemed to be the right time come back,” explains Jim. “The team and myself are just hitting our stride, and with the debut of my new SCORE Trophy Truck #15 next season, all the cards seemed to be in the right place.”
As the 37” Goodyear Tires hit the ground at the 250-mile event the second weekend of July, Jim Beaver has to be one of the odds on favorites for the event win. With an 8 minute lead at the Parker 400, and only trailing former Trophy Truck driver Curt LeDuc by 1 minute at the Terrible’s Town 250, Jim Beaver will be looking for nothing less than the win.
“This will be my final race of the season, in preparation for my new Trophy Truck next year. I will be taking the 2nd half of this season off to ensure it is ready to make a run at the championship in 2003. I would like nothing more than to win this race and end my season with a victory for my sponsors who have helped so much the past few years, and the sponsors who have just signed on for the new Trophy Truck. It would be the greatest way to say Thank You.”
With that said, PMC Racing would like to thank all of their current sponsors: Goodyear Tires, King Shocks, RLH Communications, MSD Ignition, Autozone, Tube Service Co., Penn Sign Co., RiverInfo.com, and Kofa Inn. Any sponsorship inquiries please contact PMC Racing at the address above or through JimmyBeaver.com.
