Or better yet, how safe is your truck? (J/K Klaus)

They don't take into consideration cages, 5-point harnesses, fabbed bumpers, and race seats!!! What's up with that? With those considerations, our trucks are far more superior than what was rated!

Actually without a computer designed cage that is made to crush around the body such as NASCAR uses the truck is more rigid and the collision energy is transsferred more violently....that means your body takes more energy from the collision in the form of acceleration and then F=MA and you know the rest and your body can only handle so much force before stuff breaks. THe only reason I am writing on this topic is because my parents got in an accident last night. They were in an Infiniti stopped for a fire truck and got rear ended at speed by a Ryder truck who didnt want to stop for the fire truck. The whole back of the car is in the back seat now...if it had a rigid cage, all that energy would have been transeferred to my parents and they would probably be dead or have broken backs, but instead they have a hammered car and sore bodies. Rigid is good for handling, and good for safety when constructed properly, that's why I dont feel that your average Joe Schmoe should be allowed to build roll cages.
