Chase 2

Getting ready for The 2007 Dakar I thought I would share some of the various sites I’ve used in the past to gleam all I could about the race. Many of these sites have been mentioned before and some are even linked on the listed sites. If anyone out there has any additional sites please share the link!
Eurosport.com has pretty good coverage from a predominately British point of view. Eurosport currently has a series of 5 “Destination Dakar” videos providing interviews of a wide range of different teams including bikes and cars.
The Eurosport site is: http://www.eurosport.com/rallyraid/dakar/2007/
Another British site, Marathonrally.com has additional information which tends to be press releases from teams but, it’s all good.
The Marathonrally site is: http://news.marathonrally.com/index.3024.0.html
Motorsport.com is yet another site of additional press releases and news:
The Motorsport.com link to Dakar and Cross Country Rallys is: http://www.motorsport.com/news/series.asp?S=CCR
One of the better sites is Raid-Live.com. Raid Live is a very commercial site which offers “premium” coverage of the Dakar at additional cost. I did not upgrade last year and I heard that those that did were disappointed with what they got for the money. I was again going to wait to see what the coverage was like before spending the additional bucks.
The Raid-live site is: http://www.raid-live.com/dakar/en/index.shtml
Team Gordon aka “Team Dakar USA” is rumored to be going to providing updates on the local persona of great debate and favorite topic of discussion.
The Robby Gordon Dakar site is: http://www.robbygordon.com/cms/publish/cat_index_60.shtml
For those of you who can’t get enough of Robby Gordon, Robby’s biggest fan “Flyhiflylo”, has his own blog: “The Dakar Spot”
The “Fly” site is: http://www.flyhiflylo.blogspot.com/
Mark Miller will be providing audio updates of his progress on the Arciero/Miller Racing site. Ryan Arciero has reported that he will be adding commentary along with Marks daily reports.
Arciero Miller Racing’s site is: http://www.arcieromiller.com./
Dirk Von Zitzewitz will be providing daily pod casts on his web blog. Although Dirk is bi-lingual his pod casts will most likely be in German. However Helge Siems, who runs Dirk’s site, has promised that if Dirk can’t provide an English version of the pod cast, she will provide a written transcript on the site to be translated into English. (I negotiated a deal with Helge to transcribe Mark Miller’s updates in trade).
