How come your not there and will you be going to DAKAR?I don't usually go with him overseas. I work and race too! I'm much better being a nervous wreck at home. He needs to concentrate and doesn't need some crazy lady carrying on! LOL If I was there, I'd wanna race!! (besides, Parker is in January. It's one of my favorite races)...
Today they tested the race bikes. Tomorrow is suspension testing. He's hanging out with Cyril, Marc Coma, Esidre.

Thanks Jessica!
I spoke with Chris earlier today. It's a 12-hr time difference in Dubai. He said the temps today were well over 100 degrees and still in the 90's this evening (7:00pm). He had a good ride today and finished in 7th. They raced approx 300 miles today and tomorrow should be about the same distance. He sounds great and he's having fun! Tonight and for the remainder of the race they're sleeping in tents.

Took the stage. Won! Nice. I have heard from our guys it is extremeley hot! I was there last week for the team and it was brutal so Chris must be in some good shape.

I just spoke with Chris and he had a great ride today! The start was delayed by 2-3 hours due to fog. Once they got going, it was already 100 degrees. It's not really the temps that are the issue but it's the 100% humidity that's making it worse.
Chris is in good "riding" shape but what helps him is that he does make sure he is way beyond hydrated. He has me doing the same thing... even when we're not racing! I raced a couple weeks back (AVI 150) and went through 150 oz. of water/electrolytes and it wasn't even that hot out. It does make a huge difference though with my body and being able to stay focused. Chris is still young too - just wait till he hits 30! No more Skittles and pizza & more electrolytes! ~ ;)

Mark,
Best of luck next week in Baja. We'll be down chasing for Anna Cody (solo bike racer). Chris won't be racing it this year (because of this rally).
GOOD LUCK!

Chris took 2nd today, behind Coma! He says Coma is just railing. Chris landed hard after smacking into a wall of sand (a steep downhill, hit bottom, and then on the gas to climb back up) and actually broke his seat in half! He zip-tied it up to hold it together. He was cracking up telling me the story about what happened. He landed hard on the pegs too, but luckily he didn't hurt his feet or ankles.
1 more day to go! Here's a couple pix...
