Hi guys, I've just bought a pair of seats, and am now lookin to get some 5pt. harnesses next. I was looking at the Crows with the quick release cam lock. Any of you use these? Any comments on them, or suggestions of others to consider?
Thanks!
-i'm going to put these into a daily driven ranger if it makes any difference.

cam locks are not legal in desert racing. you can only use the latch style for racing. if it is just a toy i say use whatever you want

The problem with the cam lock style is they are susceptible to dirt locking them up. They are great in a clean environment like a street car or drag car. For this reason Score and others don't allow them. One tip, when buying lap belts get the ones that have adjusters that you pull towards the center, not down and out like most standard belts. Much easier to adjust when driving and the adjusters don't run into the seats when set up properly. It's what I use in the race car.

I like and have Simpson belts in the prerunners and we have Impact belts in the race car. (Impact is Bill Simpson's new company) I liked Simpsons Latch F/X belts. They have the adjusters intergaded into the latch. They are pull downs, but you pull from the center of your waist next to the latch. Makes for easy adjustments when having to get out and then get back in with your helmet and neck restraint on.

I started talking with Impact when they first opened and they have been very good to work with ever since. We use there Intergated Latch and Link system in our race car and have been very happy. They are very similar to Simpsons, but the webbing material is very differant. With the Latch and Link belts you dont have to worry about reaching threw the seat to find the adjuster. They also have a nice pad under the latch system that does not dig into your gut and there shoulder adjusters are really smooth to adjust. When the prerunners need new belts they will be Impact belts. I also think there customer service is much better then most. Also Impact will work with you as far as sewing in the mounting hardware and they are the only company that will still let you send the belts back for inspection and rewebbing. So when your belts expire you can send them back and get rewebbed and retagged. It cost about half the price of new belts.

Thanks for the suggestions/comments guys...I'm not going to be racing the truck (would be fun though) it's my daily driver/toy, so race legality isnt an issue, good to know though. Those impact racing harnesses look pretty cool nikal, i hadn't seen those before. I hadn't really considered the direction of the adjustments before, makes sense for them to pull that way. again, thanks for the suggestions!!!

Nikal, could you post a few pics of those harnesses? The website has a black backround and you can't enlarge the picture, I'm having a hard time getting a detailed look at those.
