There is also a new Porter 10 car on the chassis dyno at Kroyer's shop in Las Vegas today. I also understand that the Dondel's are building a new class 10 to "come out and play" with us!

I was not there but I can assure you the numbers were good. Kroyer Racing Engines is at the TOP of their field in all aspects of racing, especially their off road stuff.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking that 1 3/4" tubing is the way to go for a new Class 10. 1 3/4 x .095" wall is actually lighter than 1 1/2" x .120" wall and much stronger. With alot of the new 10 cars definitely pushing or over the 2000 lbs limit for 1 1/2" x .095" it makes sense. This also makes you SCORE legal up to 3000 lbs in case you decide to step up to Class 1 with the chassis.

That chassis is built like a bombshelter and I'm sure will weigh over 2000 lbs. Good luck with it and hope to join the Class 10 club soon myself

Talked to the owner of that car yesterday (Kroyer dyno) And apparently pretty impresive. Says it should be in the dez in a couple of weeks for testing.

How much do you think it will weigh? The same as most any other ten car (not sure on the exact #'s)

What Shock Combo? Car is designed for fox 2.0 10" coils and a 2.5" 12" bypass in front. In the rear it is set up for a 12" coilover and a 16" bypass.

When is it going to get dirty? Laughlin is the prospective premiere date

I'm always excited to see more class 10 cars being built! Especially Air cooled.

If you haven't started on the engine, you may want to consider a type 1. (more HP)

From the photos the craftsmanship looks awesome and there appears to be a lot of plating, cool!

Based on your comment "same as most class 10" I'm surprised weight wasn't more of an issue with the design. Most class 10's weigh too much!!

I'm not aware of a Minimum Weight requirement. I don't think there is one.

It is hard to say what the average for the class would be!

i am guessing the lowset weighing 10 car is that thing that Hunter built. i think it as only raced 2-4 times, and i heard it cost a ton to build

Matt, we'll soon find out the weight of the car, minus fuel, once its ready to test its off to the weight scales, then to mckenzies for springs, and off to the desert for some miles and tunning.

For all of you wanting to see the car, thanks for the interest. The car is in the final stages of assembly, and the body has allready been sent to paint. Going to work on the car tomorrow morning, I'll take some pictures of the car, can't wait to get it in the dirt.
Still haven't yet weighed the car, but we shall se soon. As soon as its finish assembled and rolling its off to weight, than springs get done, than we hit the open dezert

Pictured with 33x9 M/T Baja Pro tires, Probably end up running some other tires, depends upon weight and avaliability. Probably 33x10.5 15

The original goal before some setbacks and deciding on who was going to paint the body, and depending upon testing time, the original goal was to debut it at the last race in Lucerne.
Status update, body is being painted currently, then its off to testing in a couple weeks. Our current plan is to hit a couple local races, then show up to the Primm race with a tested car.

We tried the MT tires on a 10 car and hated them. Went with bfg's with extra circular grooves. Made a huge difference. The MT's didn't have enough forward bite or side bite either. The yoks hardesty runs work way better but they wear out quick. Good luck with your car. It looks beautiful!
