How do you guys define the word profile as it pertains to the fender rules in the rulebook?
Class 3
CR47 FENDERS
Wheel openings in fender may be enlarged and flared for tire clearance but stock profile must be retained.
No other class has their rules worded this way so I can't referance another class's rules and what I know of how they work around them.

The way I read that is if the OE opening is say a rounded off square then what ever enlarged opening you cut has to have the same general shape. So you can't turn that rounded square into a perfect semi circle.

Good thinking.

I would think profile means the part of the fender not being the wheel opening and that you can open up the wheel opening up as far as needed but no more. may be enlarged and flared for tire clearance
NTSQDs interpatation could be closer though

I looked up the definition:
1 : a representation of something in outline; especially : a human head or face represented or seen in a side view
Kinda seems like that would just mean no ivan style glass that goes above the hood, which could be beneficial in a stock wheelbase vehicle.
Thoughts?

Yeah it seems more of the outside part to me, you dont use the word profile when talking about things like a mouth on a head
I would look at some pics of other class 3s that have passed tech, there not to pickiy on lots of rules, one walk through tech and anyone who knows the rule book can find something on about any car, for instance almost no one puts numbers on by the rule book, close often but not by the letter of the rule.
You could always call and ask them

You could always call and ask them
That question was coming up, how does one decide who to call? It would only be to race MDR, so is this one of those call Patricia situations I always hear about, or a call Savage because it is the SCORE rulebook and they should know the intent of all the rules?
I plan to try and make tech at the MDR Night race since its on the same day as the race, so that should answer all my questions, but I'd like to know the actual intent of the rules in addition to how everyone bends them.

CR is this for your explorer?
Call up Perry McNeil and see what he has to say about the fender rules.

I'm thinking about it, we need rules to follow on this first project, otherwise we are just going to keep trying to do things bigger and better and the Explorer will never get finished. I didn't know McNeil had an Explorer for class 3.

I dont think they do, I have seen bronco 11s that they have built race class 3 and a raced out explorer but I think that race 7 something. (all from CODE races)
