Hello,

I will be racing my first race this weekend at crandon. Rick (sickrick) has been nice enough to let me race his formula 4x4 bronco #41 saturday.

However, being it will be my first race, I was curious as to whether or not there are any "common courtesies" or any other advice or information I may find helpful. Rick has done an excellent job giving me information, but any other advice is appreciated

Thanks guys

Erik Shallbetter

just make sure you can hold your own line through turn 1! it get's really ugly when guys go in there too fast!

with it being your first race, just holding your line period is a big thing at crandon, it's so fast and always a lot of vehicles. I'd say run your own race and stay clean.

Not sure what class you race but if you are in the "Pro" classes and its your first year you are required/supposed to run a yellow rear bumper... Just hold your line in the turns and the fast guys will pass you like you are the novice that you are... Hopefully you have a good spotter and radio set up...

The class is formula 4x4. Thanks to everyone for the good advice/info.

Thanks for the luck, stop by the pit and say hi, we will be around all weekend. We finished getting the bronco prepped last night for the most part. Just a few small things now and she will be going up on the trailer fri morning.

Any other last minute words of wisdom will be helpful. I assume there is a drivers meeting sometime fri night or sat morning?

Thanks again guys.

Never raced Crandon but on the west Coast the "last" drivers/spotters meeting is on Sat mourning. Curt LeDuc often meets with novices after the drivers meeting with tips and advice.
