Ok guys I have an 89 Toyota 4x4 that had a blown 3.0. I got a engine off a guy that said it was out of an 89 but after installing it the plug for the coil pack is different. My truck has a straight plug and the new harnes has a round plug. Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Can't you use the electronics off your truck?

I have had to do things like this a lot of times with various Toyota projects and from my experences usually I find that the wiring is the same but some plugs are a different configuration. I would recommend to check the wiring and see if it is all the same and if it is cut and splice the old plug into the new wiring and plug it in. There shouldn't really be a problem if the wiring is the same.

I look tonight when I get home to see if the wires are the same color code. Thanks. I thought about pulling the harness of the original motor but it is brital and some of the plugs are missing the clips to hold them on. Thanks guys.
