I will talk to clive see if he has some more seats or if he knows anyone that does. Looking at your profile it seems youve done alot of racing wich normaly means basic mechanics which you must have. Theres no tourists allowed everybody gotta help out. lol.

Ill post back when ive got more details.

Yeah i got in touch with clive dredge hes cool. He may be able to help you out personaly or have a contact for you. He says that the prices vary based on how helpfull you can be to the team youll be going with. If your totally useless ie a passenger it could cost you. 5,000 pounds sterling i think thats about 10,000 dollars but if you are usefull this amount may go down. Anyway his email address is clive@teamdesertrose.com or he says you can wait a few weeks and the forum will be up on the website and there will be plenty of places on there.

If anyone else wants to contact clive please tell me first thanks.

Yeah ok. And i cant wait to meet the Hog Wild guys i was watching them whilst i was in France last year they got so much coverage it was amazing.Yes, we get great exposure outside the States. But OLN (USA TV) had a policy of excluding the privateers from interviews, so we ended up with only a few seconds of TV time here at home.

Sorry, we can't afford Dakar this year. No luck finding a sponsor despite the great international exposure. Unless something changes in the next two weeks, we'll be aiming for Dakar 2008. HogWildRacing.com (http://www.HogWildRacing.com/)

For others looking for a seat in a Dakar assistance vehicle, there are several American biker teams with available seats in their F350 assistance trucks.

Charlie Rauseo (415) 710-9386: "Seat in the Truck: $7500. This includes: one seat space in one of our Ford trucks for your mechanic from Lisbon to Dakar, plus 50lbs of cargo space for his gear and tools. Nothing else. You pay your entry fee and expenses. We pay all truck expenses."

I think entry fee for each assistance person is just over $10,000. So, to go with Charlie it will cost you around $17,000 plus travel expenses. Last year, in the days before the start, all the privateer American bikers stayed in a beachfront Lisbon hotel that was under $50/night, including breakfast. Charlie is managing the support for Jonah Street and Casey McCoy, and others.

Other American bikers taking their own assistance vehicles, which probably have a seat available:
Mike Kay: (949) 887-7278
James Embro: (770) 883-1533, supporting KTM rider Elmer Symons.

I've heard there is also a Mexican Yamaha based team who will have their own assistance truck. I don't know if they have any seats available.

Clive says he remembers you guys and said you were very "gung-ho" which he likes alot.We were gung-ho right up until ASO wouldn't let us continue. Then we went hog wild trying to find a bus to get the hell out of Morocco. Now we're back to gung-ho again, aiming for 2008.

I'm sure you'll have a blast as an assistance guy. Start saving up on sleep now, as all that savings will be used up in a matter of days in the bivouacs!

Its not the sleep im worried about RED BULL GIVES YOU WIINGS my biggest concern is i received the "handbook" from the Bowler team yesterday and they were wondering if i could have it memorized before i go. All 180 pages. sheesh. Luckily i have a month heavy training before the dak. :(

20 % you say interesting that means we only need another 8 people and we can get a race seat HORAY. :D
