Hey have any of you guys reran the fuse block under the hood of a 1999 or newer chevy/gmc? If so i would love to know. i want to build an engine cage but want to find a new place for the fuse block.

You can recess it back in the fire wall and build a cover or door you open to access it. This gives more clearance and you don't have to redo all the wiring!

Sorry no pics. Basically you cut out the section of fire wall that it mounts to and build a little box that welds to the stock piece of fire wall or you can make a full box and remount it to the new steel and weld it in place of the hole you cut out. If I remeber correctly you can push it back into the cab about 3" before the wires get to tight and you have to change more. You can then make a little door to access it and use a gromet to route the wires thru.
Typeing this I just realized the piece that I moved back into the fire wall wasn't the fuse block it was the junction box that all the plugs go into to take the wires into and out of the cab.It was also on a 96, Sorry for the wrong info!
On that truck the fuse block was mounted to a piece of aluminium on the bottom to protect it from flying crap and mounted up high on the mounts for the fiberglass fenders close to the stock location.
