Its pretty easy.
Tools needed:
Body saw or air knibbler
riveter
Socket to remove stock bes supports and gas filler tube
6 inch by 18 inch peice of thin sheet aluminum
Screw type jack
8 inch long 2x4
48 inch 1/2 inch mild steel or galvanized tube
1.Pull your wheel and tire off to gain a little more access to the wheel well. Cut the stock bed support plate in half and unbolt the gas filler plate and bed support struts.
2.Place a screw type jack that comes with your truck against the inner fender well and place the 2x4 on the head of the jack and jack until the jack holds it against the lower lip of the bedside and enough pressure to hold the jack in place.
3.Put your wheel back on and slowly crank the jack until you reach the flare you want. Always watch for creases starting. You dont want to crease.
4.Measure the gap where you cut earlier. Shouldnt be any more than 2 inches. Cut the plate of aluminum 2 inches wider than your measurement.
5.Place the plate in the wheel well and drill holes through the plate and the stock plate you cut earlier all the way across the plate.Rivet in all the holes you drilled. As long as you riveted everything in you can take the jack out.
6. Now onto the bed struts you removed earlier. Pull the fender out by hand where you want it and have your buddy measure the distance from the stock mount on the bed to the mount on the bedside.Cut the tube you have about 2 inches longer than the measurement your buddy took. Stick 7/8 of an inch of the end of the tube into a vice and bend to the right mounting angle and drill a hole in it for the bolt. Or if you have a welder you know what to do. You should be able to use the stock rear strut if you bend it a little bit.
7. Bolt the gas filler back in place and viola! your done with the driver side. Now repeat on the passenger side.

Here's a good write-up on pulling Ranger besides, http://www.prerunners.net/tipofthemonth/tip3.asp. It should be relatively the same process for a Chevy.
*My chevy has the flareside fiberglass bedsides so I couldn't pull them.:D

i got hannemann glass on the rear of my chevy and i am really happy with them.... i wasnt to sure about pullin the stock fenders... the hannemann ones would be easy to mount to a stock bed if you still have that...

i would rather not mount the fiberglass fenders to the bed. I just want to pull the fenders enough so the tires dont rub the fenders everytime i jump or hit the whoops. Ill do fibergalss fenders when i build a full bed cage.
