Here are a couple of pics to hold you guys over while I write the steering article. Steering is all done now, the box will get internal stops next, I am dropping the box off at Howe this week, and the front bypass shocks will go back to FOX to get clocked. Enjoy
The side skirts will be started hopefully in the next week or so.
Very little fab left, mounting hood, fuel cell and patch up rear floor, mount steering pump and other accessories. Then should go get dash then wiring and plumbing. No date set for anything after fab, it will be as budget allows.
Can you tell the wheelbase has been stretched just a tad?? ha ha Stock wheelbase is 106.5, mine is 110.

Great idea, and would be fun...do it at a race and take winner for a pre run lap!
We'll chase you in the #1461 (as long as we have the new motor / rear end)!

Will the Blazer be done in time for San Felipe? If so, I'm in for a $100 ticket. I think you should start an injured friend of the sport fund.

I am not sure when it will be done. Its an as money allows type project. I have been working on it for a couple of years so a few more months does not seem so bad to me. Thanks for all the positive feedback. I appreciate it.

Well Fabwork is 99% completed there are a couple of little things to be done after wiring and plumbing. Dash will be next. Still need to align it and mark the steering box for internal stops. Here are a couple of pics.
** The front bypass shocks are removed in the pics of front.**

Wow...alot has been done since the Expo. How do you like the Kreger tilt steering? Nate does awesome work, but that's the understatement of the year.

The tilt steering thing so far is bitchin. I am liking it a lot and happy with the decision to install it. We will see how it works when I start driving it.

Primm is what I am really shooting for.. The rest of the work is not time consuming just expensive. Its probably got a month left of work to be completed..
Thanks Rory, see you and the family in Baja.

Juan B - Did you rhino line the truck of just paint everything flat black?
Look awesome....

March 25th, 2006, 23:14
Its all flat black spray paint. It keeps the rust off and it comes right off with brake cleaner. Learned that trick from the Synergy Tundra team.

Well a couple of setbacks.. The aluminum guy I had selected has shut his business down and the wire and plumbing guy is going to work for a big race team and will no longer be able to help me out..
I will let you guys know what I come up with.

John you try Jimmy Newtron for wiring?

April 8th, 2006, 12:49
John, make sure you put the u-joint in the center of the two 3/8 bolts on the tilt column. Since Kar-tek started selling them I have noticed that numerous people have not done this. If it is not in the middle, the shaft will grow and shrink as you use the tilt. We asked Kar-tek to start telling people how to install it after we saw a few done wrong. Keep up the good work.

That thing is awesome. There aren't any Blazers running TT. Maybe there should be! ;)

June 23rd, 2006, 16:34
No TT class for me. Strictly a prerunner to have fun with friends. Updates coming real soon. Ordered and recieved my 3rd member from Currie Enterprises. Goes in for Exhaust July 8th, Lj Kennedy will be building an aluminum dash for it Later in July. Hopefully it will get plumbed before it goes to exhaust, then after the dash is built straight to wiring. The plan to have it completed by end of August seems achievable. I will keep you guys up to date with more pics.

Have you thought about, or already got a paint scheme in mind? I was bored for a few minutes today and noticed you had red and black seats so I hope you don't mind me playing around with pics of your beautiful truck...
more to come next time i am bored

I dont mind at all. That looks pretty cool. I keep going back and forth on what I want to do. I had a paint scheme I really liked and then I thought about going plain white because that looks so clean.. decisions decisions.

IMO, one flat color looks good. Easier to touch up and would hate to see a flashy multi-color paint job get messed up while actually using the vehicle.

Yes, I already sent him a PM on RDC here. Those bedsides would match my front clip perfect. Appointments are all made, in one week it goes into SPF to be plumbed and finished, the off to LJ Kennedy for the dash and wiring. Shooting for around Primm..
