Lots of NEW, cool Peter Brock Photos from Dakar at Team Dakar USA. I think it was cool that he got to go with Rob to take lots of photos...INCLUDING the new rear tire rack ( weld that hub & rotor assembly onto the back of the car ) and "Air" photos after they were done with the Rally.

Why is that big bull guard that goes over most of the hood on in some pics and off in some? What's that for anyway? Just extra protection for a crash because of the rear engine?

I think you are confusing the H3 race car pics with the H1 support vehicle pics.

I was wondering about that tire rack when I saw the pics from Glamis testing.

Ah...the stuff we have to do when we are in a hurry...I like the Rotor/Hub assembly welded on there better anyway ;-) I too saw some stuff that I don't think was to typical for Rob...I just think they needed 36 hour days...been there...done that. Still...a BadAzz ride for the time frame they had.

They did a great job for the amount of time they had. I think "playing" in the dunes (which is where the dune hucking pics are from I think) before they came home was a worth while endevor. I can't figure out why the support team couldn't find them at night, they had the lat/lon of the H3 didn't they?

middle of nowhere, Afraid, too much risk. If they had the nasa site up it may have been a little better. :)

WOW!! So what you are saying is that RG couldn't continue because his crew couldn't handle the dunes at night? All those high dollar roundy-round fab guys and wrenches don't do much good in the bivouac if you can't get to them. They needed some old school chasers! Mid 70's middle of nowhere Baja, no sat phones, no gps, kind of guys! Really, two H1 Hummers working togeather shouldn't have had any problems getting to him.

They did end up making it to them the next day with a Mauritanian military patrol which offered assistance.
