Got a new iPod for Xmas. Nice. Now who knows the hot setup for wiring this into my PCI intercom in the car? Looking for any/all suggestions. Thanks.

Race intercom or pre-runner?

If I'm not mistaken, on the Comlink race intercom there is no input for an audio feature? However there is on the 2 and 4 person prerun intercom systems and should be right on the panel with a simple headphone style jack.

The 4 link pro has a nine pin Molex on the back of the com box:
Pin 1 Right Tip on 1/8 stereo
Pin 2 Left Center Ring on 1/8 stereo
Pin 3 Common ground Far back Ring on 1/8 stereo
We make an Ipod/Mp3 adaptor or you can wire any 1/8 stereo cord into the Molex plug, PCI can fax over detailed drawings and installation guide as well. If you are hooking up 4 link to existing stereo deck in prerunner you will need what we call a floating ground adaptor that will convert your stereo speaker wire outputs to the common ground signal the 4 link requires.
Portable intercom has a 1/8 inch stereo jack on the front that says audio in, with a standard 1/8 to 1/8 male stereo plug your ipod or any personal music device will plug in.
Com 6 Race intercom can be hooked up to stereo input, but it needs to be sent in for this modification $39.95. I do not recommend this mod for race applications it tends to overdrive the audio amps and will broadcast stereo with voice when transmitting out.
New Com 10 extreme intercom system has input for music, in car cam, and sat phone hook up as well as driver isolation and auto volume controls. This intercom system has been tested in ten of the fastest vehicles in the desert and is now available at PCI in limited supplies. The auto volume control allows you to set the volume for the 2-way and intercom at idle and as the car gets louder the volume increases, this allows for higher volumes when on the gas and lower volumes when you come into the pits. The driver isolation feature allows the driver to interact with co-driver, but the driver hears none of the two-way chatter that tends to distract us. The intercom also features detent volume controls that keep the volumes controls set at where you want them. I have done extensive testing on these new units and they are the best intercom system for off-road racing period. While the Com 6 will still be a standard at PCI the new Com 10 will be for those of you in loud vehicles that want the best PCI has to offer.
If you have any questions on how to hook up your Ipod give us a call between 12 and 2 this week as we are trying to get a new system online that will help PCI grow to serve you better. PCI will open next Tuesday back to regular hours and we are in all week for those of you who have to have something before the end of the year. I am a recent convert to the Ipod music device and once you get up to speed they are awesome!

It's a 4-Link Pro...
Thanks everyone. Scott, I'll call ya next week when you're not so busy. I'd like to get one of your iPod adapters... Can my XM radio also plug into this or do they require something different? My car is death on CD players:mad: so I refuse to buy another one...

Hey Scott, does the new one have a seperate power and volume? I.E you don't have to reset the volumes everytime you turn it on?
