Looks like another good source of information for following The Dakar has just come on line.

usadakar.com (http://www.usadakar.com)

This is Mark Miller's site, and will definitely add to our ability to follow what's happening during The Dakar. Mark will be providing audio updates on the site which were my favorite when he last raced The Dakar.

So with daily half hour TV, real time GPS tracking, daily updates on Team Dakar USA and USA Dakar, along with a couple of Euro web sites, we might be able to have some inkling as to what’s really going on. Naw not really, but it is getting better than before.

Very Cool Craig. I didn't know the site would be up already. I Just landed in London and of course I check RDC right away. I am on the way to the VW Race HQ for a briefing and then Monday the team will be at the factory in Wolfsburg for an official departure. Wed. I will be in Madrid for the function test of 309. Rory was busy so Dirk had a special German guy do a shirt design that looks pretty good. Maybe I can get someone to post it? I'll check in when I can before the start. Christmas in Lisbon.

The design looks great! Do either of you guys have a contact for the guy in Germany? I am trying to get a new shirt done for Laughlin but my new design has been delayed. I backed tracked the distribution chain and I am being told that I am lost somewhere in Bullhead City? Sounds like good catfishing, anybody no where it is?

As far as I can tell, the official Dakar tracking site is not up yet. eurosport.co.uk/ (http://www.eurosport.co.uk/) has great interviews, and last year they gave pretty good race analysis. I’m still digging around as ther is a ton of Euro coverage. However, some of the Euro sites I used last year are no longer up, so I’ll post links as I find them. RG's site is supposed to have daily updates, but I don’t think he’ll have the audio/sat phone call in like Mark does.

Just rode with Hatch and Matt and 15 other guys. Not a great ride, but we were thinking of you. Have fun and be safe and drive fast, we will all be following you.

Both Mark, Mike (Web Designer) and myself have been working hard on getting you guys a great platform to be able to follow the race. I think it will be pretty cool to be able to follow what Mark has to say during the rally. It should make for really interesting stuff.

Like Mark and I have been saying in the past, we have been working hard on making Arciero-Miller Racing huge for the future and we have made some big steps in that direction. The first step in that process starts with Mark and this up and coming Dakar Rally. The second will start next year as we make our plans for Baja.

Keep posted to www.usadakar.com during the rally for audio updates as well as pics. That site is also linked to www.arcieromiller.com which you will probably want to keep an eye on come the begining of next year.
Thank you guys for all your support for Mark as all of us at AMR are pulling for him and Dirk to kick some butt.

Thanks to race-dezert for such an awesome platform to be able to reach the fans and off-road community.

Thank you Ryan for all that you have done and for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of it. You guys have done an incredible job with both of those sites and with everything else being prepared for, it hasn't gone unnoticed that your attention to the webcontent is exemplary.

Best of luck and a million prayers to your team for Dakar.........

Hello All. Talked to Mark a couple of hours ago, and he sounds excited about the days ahead. He posted an audio update after stage 1 on our web site www.usadakar.com.

He says he cruised in todays stage which is perfect and what he should be doing. The stages that are in Portugal are going to be suited for Carlos to run fast, because that is his specialty and he should by all means be the fastest. Tomorrow should be interesting and I know Mark and Dirk are excited to get into Morocco.

When I hear from Mark I will try my best to put up a post for you guys on his comments, plus he is going to do his best to keep the audio updates coming in. As the rally starts getting longer it might get a little bit harder but stay tuned for some good stuff.

A quote from Miller from the VW Day's Stage Report:

#309 -- Mark Miller (USA), 10th place (leg) / 10th position overall "I'd set out to size-up the rally on the European stages, which definitely paid off since the grip level was difficult to judge under these conditions. The Race Touareg 2 ran perfectly."
