What's a good color to use for daytime racing? Light or dark or amber or?

I just have clear now and I can can still see the road 3 days later when I close my eyes..:)

Thanks.

Amber by far. I tried Amber, light and dark smoke. The mirrored is good but amber is best all around. Yes dont get caught at night with the smoked lenz it sucks

Mine's a Shoei RFR with CX-2 shield. The McKenzie's catalog has the hi-def amber listed for the 2000 but not for the RFR. The RFR has a "hi-def shield - clear" listed just under the "shield - clear". Wonder if it's a typo. Do you know who else carries the amber?

Thanks,
G.

Amber is great in the day time but at dusk or when it is dark I did not like it at all. I have never got sick in a car before and with the amber at dusk I felt like I was getting motion sick and had to open the shield!

Found them thanks. McKenzie's does have the amber after all. Catalog is mis-labeled.

UPR Racing also has the thicker "tear off" style amber shield cover.
It actually seals against the shield, so dust entering between the surfaces is not an issue. So when it gets dark, you just peel it off!

See attached image.

I haven't tried the amber lens yet. I just wear my sun glasses under my clear visor. I've just been to worried about having a hard time seeing at night with an amber visor. I also use the clear laminated tear offs, they work great, no worries of getting dust between layors.

I like riding with clear, in case your ride/race goes into the night hours, you still have the clear lens

I ran my dark shield this weekend at the dash and will never use it again. It only took a few clouds in the sky to make it VERY hard to see. I might try the Amber or go back to using clear only.

Like Gabe said, Shield savers!

Not only do they allow you to start with amber or smoke then go to clear if needed., they make a shields last a bunch longer.
