my truck is having hesitation issues. doesn't happen all the time, only when it wants to, and NEVER when it's being worked on/checked out...when you step on the gas, rpm's drop, and engine hesitates...repeatedly. it will not accelerate, just stumbles up a storm. if you accelerate slowly, it doesn't happen, but if you mash it, it's like it won't take the gas. it only does this under a load. in neutral, you'd never know something was wrong, but in gear, it just won't move. i don't know if it's carb related, or maybe a timing issue? (vac advance/distributor related?) 6 months ago, carb was rebuilt. took it to the same place last week, who told me they found dirt/grime in the carb, cleaned it, said it was good to go. next day, hesitationville again...filter is new, carb inlet is clean, seems to be ok on the vac. lines from what i can tell....
some days, it runs completely fine, and you'd never know it was ill...
any ideas? any shops to take it to, as i'm getting fed up, and can hear a new tundra calling my name??????

had a similar problem that costed me a race. the pick up tube in the cell was sucked up against the side of the can. i had to take it apart and v-cut the pick up tube end.

I had foam breakdown on my Jaz cell that was over 2 yrs old. I ended up replacing my cell with a higher quality Fuel Safe one and then I had to replace my fuel filter with a new OEM one and then a new Bosch fual pump. Oh and I also had to replace my o2 sensor after that it ran fine. It was alot of time and $ but I hate Jaz cells. My fuel pump still sounds like its clogged and I need to un hook it again and look at it even though I replaced everything. Hmmnnn.

Foam is pretty much the same in any brand of cell and will break down over time, that is why all brands recomend you change it about once a year! The bladder is the difference in these two cells.

Ok thanx for the insight...but I heard that the foam in the Fuel Safe's are of a higher quality than the Jaz.
