im in the process of replacing the 8.8" rear end in my 94 f150 5.0 v8 automatic trans prerunner. im installing a 9" with all the good stuff. my question is what problems should i expect since i wont have the speed sensor in the rearend any more. the transmission is fully electronic there is a provision hole in the tail shaft housing for a speedo but there is no speedo cable there so im assuming the speedometer works of one of the other 3-4 wire looms that comes out of the transmission. im hoping the speed sensor in the rearend is for the rear abs brake system which i can delete rather easily. if it controls the transmission shifting i will have a bigger problem on my hands. any info out there will be appreciated. thanks johnny

yes the sensor in the rearend controls the transmission when my freind put in his 9in in his 95 150 we had to make a ring for the drive shaft with teeth on it then mounted the sensor to read that...

i talked to curt and we does it for $250 for the speedo ring installed on the drive shaft slip yoke. talked to currie enterprises and they recommended brea auto electric. called and talked to him and he said $150 and send him tire size, gear ratio and trans type and he will make the gear to my application. so it looks like im sending the slip yoke off to brea auto electric for the work. any body heared anything about brea auto electric?
